As with the EG app, you are asked to attest the score electronically, that puts an electronic marker from you against the score. Way more reliable as evidence of certification than a squiggle on a scorecard or a touch screen.

When you input a card in EG there is no verification signature- the person attesting the card doesn’t sign anythingPractical issue with that is Certification has to have some shelf life, so a third party can use it.
As said above. Folk have been dq'd for years for unsigned cards.
Nor is MyEG having to rely on verbal verificationWhen you input a card in EG there is no verification signature- the person attesting the card doesn’t sign anything
I’m sure on the EG App, you sign the screen then send the card to the attester who also has to sign the screen on his phone to say it is correct. When you input a card in EG there is no verification signature- the person attesting the card doesn’t sign anything

Apologies if this has chsnged, but that’s how it worked in the summer
Not verbal verification. Not once have I ever heard that to be acceptable, from a Rules perspectiveso there is no definitive “verification” - it can be a multitude of different ways
yes but EG is not used for comps so rules for DQ do not apply. When you input a card in EG there is no verification signature- the person attesting the card doesn’t sign anything
I’m sure he signs in a box. Or did.
This is what the userguide shows. Has it changed?

You have to name the attester and when the attester receives the message there is a box to sign and an approve button by them. Most of the guys I play with in a swindle use EG for a GP card. We just have to name the attester and they get a message on their phone to confirm the score.
Don’t believe it’s there anymore and tbh I can’t ever recall seeing it when whenever I have approved a scoreI’m sure he signs in a box. Or did.

It’s not there, I’ve attested a score this afternoon on the EG App, just a message showing the scores by hole and total with an option to approve or reject.Don’t believe it’s there anymore and tbh I can’t ever recall seeing it when whenever I have approved a score
That is not how the EG app works and committee's do not in any case have anyway of checking those signatures. The fact that a member has attested the score via a password protected personnal account is sufficient. In any case the signature does not appear on the EG portal for administrators so cannot be checked. You have to name the attester and when the attester receives the message there is a box to sign and an approve button by them.
Cheers, it was definitely there in July, hence why I asked if it had been removed in an update. That is not how the EG app works and committee's do not in any case have anyway of checking those signatures. Player's signature and attester details are shown on the WHS admin platform, which handicap committees (should) have access to.That is not how the EG app works and committee's do not in any case have anyway of checking those signatures.
