Royal County Down

Strange, I have played RCD a few times, always received a warm welcome before the game and enjoyed the bar afterwards.
It was the coast of Down competition over 3 courses so not actually run by RCD. Guess they were happy to take the green fee revenue though.

Both Portrush and Royal County Down gave our group a great reception. We even got a drink out of a members still in his locker at Portrush. Portrush is stunning but RCD is even better.(y)

I guess occasionally the clubhouse may be needed for another function.
I doubt RCD get more green fee revenue through a competition shared with other clubs than they do through standard visitors seeing their green fees.

Played it last week.
Course is stunning with the backdrop of the Mourne Mountains and Slieve Donard.
Great course to play but a lot of blind holes. We took a forecaddy and was very glad we did getting the right lines on a lot of the blind shots is crucial. Ours was also a better green reader than I am and useful on the putts.
