realistic targets for 2012

Tried the whole Zen approach last year, bag of rubbish in my opinion, hence backto the realistic, SMART objectives. Started the year well, so hoping to keep going when qualifiers start in April.

Usualy go into a slump at this time of the year even though I dont stop playing throughout the winter. This year I was determined that it would not happen again so i have had lessons for the first time in ages and have practiced.
Yesterday shot my second sub 80 round so far this year. Would like to get down to 10, 9 would be a bonus.

I had realistic targets last year and failed on the handicap one. This years have been reconsidered and now I have decided to stop trying to learn to draw the ball and work on making my natural fade more controllable. Short game is going to be my main focus as that is costing me too many shots per round. Target of sub 20 handicap is my main aim so bogey golf is my focus in comps.

Scoring regular mid to low 90's so focus is consistent sub 90's which will see the h/c tumble accordingly

time will tell

Suicidal after yesterdays round, after weeks of practicing and hitting the ball like I've never hit it before, yesterday
was a big dissapointment,I can honestly say that I've never hit so many duff shots in one round,my drives were pretty good,my chipping was ok but nearly every iron from about 180 yards was miss hit or scew wiffed right,so its back to the drawing board for me,really cheesed off..

At the beginning of the year, there was a similar thread and I put that I wanted to hit a Blob Free Round, well in the intervening 2 months, I have done that ...twice :-)

Got my best ever Comp score yesterday 92 / 37 points , all my previous reductions in handicap have been from "general Play" and every other comp has resulted in a .1

I would like to see my handicap come down to 18 this year, I dont think this is unrealistic

Roll on the next comp

Fragger

Would like my H/C to get down to 18, then I will pick another target after that. Also I would like to be more consistent when I swing and sometimes hit the ball.

To play more consistently by improving my ball striking and carry on the improvement on my short game. Hcp wise to get to 20, if I don't I don't just want to keep the enjoyment going really.

Also to average at least 1.5 rounds a week over the year and have a few away days.

Break 100... Should be the next couple of times I play...

Break 95...

Break 90...

Enter a competitive comp.

If all of these are achieved (or to be honest even if they arent haha) I will start next season a member of a club.

Ok being realistic. Just thankful, to be back playing. After 4/5yr lay off with injury. Just joined a club, so H/c. Think 14 is the target for now, it was lower when I had to stop, so just have to see how it goes. But I'm not going to beat myself around the head over it. Above all else just going to enjoy myself as much as I can.

None for 2012.

Had targets last year and achived none of them, in fact went up by almost 2 shots ( came back 1.5 shots at the end of the season)

Just going to enjoy my golf this year nothing more.

Achieved all of my targets last year
Best ever round (Improved it twice last year)
Handicap to 6 from 8 (Down to 5.4 for week now 5.7)
Get in contention to play for league team (played 10 games for the team)
Win a comp (won 4)

So my targets this year are similar
Shoot best ever round
Handicap to Cat 1
Win a comp.

I struggled at the start of last year because I was putting pressure on myself to achieve these goals quickly, but when I started to relax I would my game improved and as my handicap dropped the rest of my goals fell into place

Sadly being able to join a club again is out of my hands so that cannot be a target.

I think my targets this year are:

Play as much golf as possible
Enjoy what little golf I do play
Score as good as I can and beat the people I am playing with :)
Play with as many GM forumers as I can (member guest rates only :) )

Like you, get down to 9 (only .3 to go).
Try to make top 10 in the Trilby Tour Regional Qualifier.
Retain Summer Pairs trophy at my club
See if I can break 70 for the first time ever.

My targets for 2012 season are as follows
1. Get down from 18 to 14 (hopefully 12)
2. Break 80 in a club comp (done it a few times in practice never witha scorecard)
3. get past the first round of the singles matchplay (never done it yet)
4. win a monthly medal
5. Qualify for the club championship (handicap)
6. Start hitting more GIR (and more birdies)

If i can do #6 everything else will fall into place
