realistic targets for 2012

Ok folks, I'm looking at targets for the year and thinking what's realistic.
Off 12 at the minute, but was 10 last year and just had a bad year. Also feel like my driving is getting back on track and short game getting there.....
So this is what I'm thinking -
1. Get down to 9,
2. Make the uslter cup team
3. Win a medal
4. Win a summer knockout

Over to you..

Improve your chipping and putting, develop a 'go to' safe tee shot and play one shot at a time. Sorted.

Thanks Ethan, putting well at the minute, but have been woeful with pitches and chips so working hard on that, love the cally driver I got so feel very confident in it, if it fails I have a good 3/4 iron tee shot I feel I can hit all day so fingers crossed it comes together.
:)

I have the same Cally. Good driver, can't blame it after a bad tee shot.

I'd like to make it to Cat1 but I think 6 is more realistic, then not slip back up again like I did last year after getting to 7.

My aims......arent high, and Hopefully realistic

1) Maintain my current H/Cap ... 8 .... don't think I can get much lower, ( IMHO ) Im 43 now and only started playing 10years ago, very late starter to the game, so I'm quite Delighted to have ever got this Low.;)

2) To maintain my Head, and concentration, if / when faced with a terribly SLOW round, and not 'Walk', and hit the Bar, causing unecessary 0.1 Lifts........!!! ( Ive done this a few times last 2yrs )

3) Try ( as usual ) to play some courses Ive never played before

4) Stop being an ebay Whore, and collecting wedges/putters, just cos u spot a bargain.

5) Try and WIN the Adult/Junior Comp with my Son in 2012, were 3rd in 2011

6) Just enjoy the game........woteva it Brings

Im gonna spend my practice time 25% putting, 25% chipping greenside/bunkers, 25% pitching/approaching 100 yards and in and the remaining 25% woods/irons.

I need to become someone that others say 'has an awesome short-game' that will nicely see me into single figures.

I have a programme written up with my Pro so we have a plan and he is pretty confident that I can get down to 7 or 8
( but not that confident that he offered a money back guarantee):whoo:

Cant wait for this years golfing........ Gonna be FUN :one:

mine are to obtain offical h/c, get regular lessons, play atleast 4 new courses and try to play all year round without taking 2 month gaps which to be fair they were mostly out of my control

1. Handicap to around 15
2. Join a club as handicap member and play in a few tournaments
3. Play as much as possible with a new baby(3rd) due at the end of June.... 1 is looking tough now! Lol

This will be my 1st full year.
I am going to enter as many comps as I can, my aim this year is to shoot 90 or below on a regular basis, get my handicap lower & enjoy my golf.

Oh, also to play in our Stragglers team home & away.

I hope to officially hit single figures early in the year (first qualifying comp would be nice), and finish up closer to 5 than 10 by the end of the year. I'm taking a few lessons, practising and am definitely hitting the ball better so am encouraged.

If I'm managing that then hopefully I can go one better and win my club's ladies championship this year and do well in a few opens....

my target this year is to get down to 3 and to contend in both club championships at killin and callander.

i also want to play as many gents opens as possible and shoot as many low scores at these opens.this shoudl equate to me getting down to 3 no problem.......easier said than done though.

Pretty much exactly this although being greedy I would like to get to 7 or 8

I'm currently 11.5. I'm having lessons to sort out my takeaway, when that clicks I will be looking to lose at least2 shots this year with 3 a strong possibility.

Get back down to 12, and start enjoying it again. Found the last couple of months a bit of a chore when nothing was going right.

New course to play and a wee revamp of the back hopefully do the trick.
