Random Irritations

The guy who seeks refuge in the toilet, the pro shop, the office knowing we're headed for the bar. The same guy who takes twice as long cleaning his trolley and shoes and an eternity stowing it away in his car.
Yep, I know him!

Every club has at least one. Our roll up had one. We got to asking him what he wanted as he was putting his gear away. This led to him confirming he was going in. We’d order and tell the bar staff Fred was paying. He bought every first round for the 3-4 ball he was in.

A bit dangerous if he’d had a bad round - he could grump for England.

I’m sure forecourt pricing isn’t properly aligned with costs (to their advantage, not ours) but… Lets say they did it the other way round i.e they have months of stock now, produced at lower cost so its only when the expensive fuel hit the forecourt that prices need to go up

For ease lets say its 4 months stock so prices shouldn’t increase until July time

What would consumers say if come July the oil prices had returned to/are lower than what they were last week, but forecourt prices need to rocket and petrol stations say ‘ well folks you need to remember back in March when we had xyz issue and our prices were high but we kept your pump price low…’

I just don’t think joe/janet public would accept it, very short memories
There is a balance to it but also remember we ultimately don't have that much choice in the end. When the barrel price starts working through the system, even Costco have to increase their fuel price (always the cheapest fuel in the UK). We can grumble all we like, we are stuck with paying whatever they charge.

Back to your point and my point about balance, at least try to pretend some of the pricing is in the system. The current jumps are way ahead of that point. As has already been said, it's profiteering.

Pulled into the garage this morning on my way to work to get some petrol. I did actually need some. The bell end next to me has his boot up and is filling four brand new red plastic fuel containers with diesel. I was so hoping that he overfilled one of them so that the fuel spilled into the boot.

Second irritation of the day. I’m getting grumpy.

TV dramas, the producers of which seem intent on ruining by having constant background music which drowns out the dialogue.

Not just music. Environmental sounds are also mixed way too loud.

I have a theory about what's going on. Once you know what is being said (after several rewinds and re-listens), it's completely obvious and intelligible.
Perhaps those who mix the sound know the dialogue and are oblivious to the fact it can't be heard.

Oh, and if course us old folks do have worse hearing ☹️

Having to justify my club trying to close an exploitable loophole in our tee-time booking system. Honestly.
But isn’t that the point of posting on here. You put something in the thread of interest to spark discussion on here, therefore thre will be others for and against the ideas put forward. As a result you have to accept in some instance you will have to defend your points. Isn’t that what this place is literally for.

Not everyone is going to agree especially when it comes to rule changes.
