Random Irritations

Monty Python’s Flying Circus springs to mind. “Well, we had it rough. We lived in a shoe box in the middle of the road…”
My favourite was ‘ we were so poor, my brother was knitted by the WVS and pushed through the letter box when no one was looking’

Which normally gets the astonished response ‘ You had a letter box!’

Would it be a good idea, to save a lot of email traffic, just to have companies notifying you when they don’t have sales?
I may just be missing things but there certainly seem to be more and more shops with permanent sales going on...they just change the name from Xmas to New Year to New season to Spring to Summer etc etc

I have 2 email accounts. One for official stuff, friends & family, the other for retail. Can’t remember exactly when I was last in the retail one.

I've been on a mission of unsubscribing, but not convinced they take any notice?
I wouldn't disagree with that. It probably gets rid of half so that's a start. For the rest, if they annoy people that much, identify them as spam and block them.

I go on a mission every so often to clear things out, it's quite therapeutic 😄

But I still have to read them, wherever they land - people with anything other than maybe 1 of 2 unread emails displayed on their phone make me want to push them down a hole or similar 😁
Once they’re in that folder hit select all and delete no reading necessary and not clogging up the main email account. I hate seeing people with loads of notifications 😂

On the delivery theme, we ordered a rug back in November from Amazon. Originally due 8th Dec. After it was pushed back twice spent some time with 'customer services'. It's marketplace, so they don't really want to know, despite taking the order & money. Seems Amazon know they never hit the dates, but they still let them advertise them. All they could do was offer a refund, couldn't give a trustworthy date. So left it some more days in case of any news before finally taking the refund option on Monday. We picked up something local yesterday.
Here's the twist, this morning receive 'delivery due today' notifications!
GLS (whoever they are) have apparently attempted delivery 3 times between 08:41 & 12:57 - despite there being several people in the house, no sign.

Best guess is they haven't received the cancel yet and are putting out made up delivery attempts to try to cover themselves.
Update, they just tried to deliver it.
Pondered for a second, but suggested they take it back to the depot.
