Random Irritations

Mrs says to me grab yourself something out the fridge for lunch.
Nice cheese selection in there and taken into living room with box of crackers and bottle of port.
Just about to get cracking and get told that’s for Xmas put it back, now got a peanut butter sandwich as only thing I could find that isn’t for Xmas

Mrs H resists getting the good stuff in till the very last minute. For me, if it’s in the fridge it’s fair game.

I'm guessing it was the pint glass you didn't mention that set her off.
😅

The approval has been granted for the New Universal Studios Theme Park that’s going to be built just off the 420 near Bedford

Irritation is the level of moaning and crying about it being built and “spoiling the area”

1. I can only suspect they haven’t been near the area it’s being built , exploding a bomb there would improve it

2. The level of jobs it’s going to create and the boost to the local economy is going to be huge

The snicko operator in the 3rd test using the stump mic from the bowlers end not the batsman's end when reviewing a caught behind decision. No wonder the line didn't match up with the pictures and the Aussie was given not out! And he admitted afterwards he thought he hit it 😡
Yes, but if the mic at the bowler's end was used in error, then the spike would have arrived LATER. But the spike on Snicko is BEFORE the ball reaches the bat. Had the correct mic been used, the spike would have been even earlier.

After this, and the controversial Snicko incident in the first test, it's clear that Snicko is not fit for purpose.
Time for the ICC to mandate that the best system (Ultraedge?) must be used worldwide.

Never said that they weren’t! Doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to hate them or the pain that’s caused. We are all allowed to dislike whatever we choose and I personally hate having someone else’s hands and implements shoved in my mouth regardless of the reason for it 👌.

On a slightly serious point, is there another group of health professionals where people receiving treatment (just as in the example above) instinctively and routinely express hatred towards the person rather than the procedure (and are routinely happy to say the same to that person directly too)? A prostate biopsy or Chemotherapy is 10x worse than dental treatment to endure yet nobody expresses hatred towards surgeons or oncology staff even if they’re really not having fun. Nurses can stick a tube up your smallest hole yet are still considered compassionate angels. Interesting difference.

Anyway, fun fact; the two diseases that make up 90%+ of the dental treatment need (tooth decay and gum disease) are both caused by your own behaviours and habits and both preventable by you changing those behaviours and habits. Who should you be hating if you need dental treatment…? 😜

I don't hate the dentist.
GPs generally fulfill that role for me.
And experience with elderly parents and in-laws has taught me that it's the healthcare assistants and trainee nurses that are the angels. Not so much love for the qualified nurses from me.
Obviously I'm massively stereotyping from poor personal experiences.

To answer your questions I tell my dentist I don’t hate them but hate having things in my mouth and having dental work. They respect the honesty and as a result are more diligent with their work which I respect and generally treat me well. Today was no exception they even have it on the forms as a question before you go in and hand it to them.

Your other point about disease being our own behaviour. I’ll caveat that with I do everything the dentist tells me to maintain good oral health and always have done. My issues arise from 2 key factors:

1) as a kid I had an underbite (genetic thing from my dad) as a result had several teeth removed and jaw reset with certain braces causing weak areas that was expected later in life as a result of the orthodontic treatment to correct said underbite.

2) with my job spending weeks living in ditches, snow holes, tents etc, living off high energy rations that have lots of sugars and additives to keep you fuelled in harsh conditions all the brushing in the world can’t counteract that sadly. Which at the moment is a large part of work.

So as I said soon as I return to normal world I resume all the proper regimes and see the Dental Hygienist every 3 months for an extra clean as well as my 6monthly dental checks. So who should I be hating myself for following correct protocols, my parents for the crap jawline genetics, the people producing the rations we have to eat for weeks at a time or myself for choosing my path in life. Maybe I’ll just hate everyone seems simpler, but I’ll always hate having things in my mouth that aren’t food 🤣

Maybe I’m just in that 10% gap 😉
