Random Irritations

Traffic reports (yes LBC, I'm talking about you but other stations are available and just as bad).

"There are delays on the A xx due to an accident that occurred earlier". Well it wouldn't be due to one that might happen later, would it?:rolleyes:

Numpties. Wonder who writes their scripts.
I once braked hard at the exact moment the traffic update warned of a " huge tailback" on the motorway I was travelling. I thought "Phew!" and then spotted the driver in the car behind, not looking ahead, look up and mouth "Oh f***!" as he slammed on but still rear ended me.
Both were company cars. His a Ford, mine a Vauxhaull (30/40 years ago), mine driveable, his towed.
He rang me that afternoon to say his company would settle ASAP, he was OK, checked I was OK, and that he'd ordered a new car - my model Vauxhaull based on the outcome of the crash!
😂

Flying cattle class, those seats are just on the edge of torture when it's 12hrs
Landed back home to real-feel temp of 40 and still dressed for the 8 degrees it was at Gatwick

Ryanair seating is abysmal v Jet2. Hard, short and little legroom.
Recently booked Jet2 flights for Palma next year. Not only cheaper but more convenient times.
And dedicated check-in areas !

And add to that, in general, staff who are friendly and helpful and seem to enjoy their jobs, rather than the two-fingered salute that is Ryanair customer service.

The CS from their holiday side was similarly good when we tried that.

And they refunded everything with no dicking about back in Covid - in complete contrast to many more premium airlines. Like an elephant, I don’t forget….

Flown Jet2 loads in the last few years (it is sort of Yorkshire’s national airline after all 😜). Ryanair only as a last resort. Never mind cheaper; if there was a straight choice between the two then I would pay a significant premium to fly Jet2 over Ryanair.

My eldest has obviously never seen a Christmas card before, he's writing his out and the first two have been...

"Merry Christmas,

From

*the person he's sending it to.*
Reminds me of when I was a child. We always sent thank you letters to whoever had sent us presents. My younger sister copied mine including signing my name :ROFLMAO:

You've just reminded me of a lad at school who copied someone else's personal statement for a college application, including the bit where he was the captain of the netball team...

Security at Gatwick (again)

Me, load up tray with carry on and pocket contents… do you want me to take my hoodie off and pop it in a tray?
Security 1, no its fine
Me, take three steps to go through scanner
Security 2, take your hoodie off and put it in a tray
Me, one rule guys, just give me one set of rules to follow

Its not just being made to feel like you’ve screwed up not taking it off, its that your wallet, phone, passport etc are all sitting unattended on the other side while I get shuffled back in the Q

Signing up for a 2 1/2 course for work, and realising 2 minutes in that it is nothing to do with the work you will be doing.
And on the 1st day back after a week off.

My CDs never go missing, since they're all in cardboard boxes in the loft.
Mine are in a unit in the spare room. Must be years since I played one, everything is streamed. Missus wants me to get rid of them, but I am resisting.

Got loads of vinyl in the loft. No idea why I'm holding on to that as I haven't had a turntable for at least 20 years!

Do you want Stacey Soloman to come around and 'Sort Your House Out'? If not, do it yourself :ROFLMAO:

I'm not a hoarder, I'm quite ruthless when it comes to chucking out clothes or bits of tech. I just have an emotional attachment to music. It's irrational, I know I'll never play a vinyl LP or a CD ever again, but I don't want to let them go.
