Random Irritations

You do know the average woman has a longer relationship with their hairdresser than with their husband.
Sadly, there are so many who start up doing it for peanuts that the expeirienced and good hairdressers give up and either retire or do something else becuase they aren't making money.
For more than 25 years I have been the only person to be cutting my wife's hair. Long straight hair - not too difficult - about an inch and a half off each time.
And for more than 30 years I've been cutting (OK electric clipping) my own hair.
I wonder how much money (and time) we have saved.

If I ever offered to cut my wife’s hair she’d likely offer to cut my testicals off. Fair play to you for that I respect it and am jealous of how much you will have saved. My wife has hers done every 6-8 weeks at roughly £90-£120 a cut depending on what’s planned in for that one.

But it’s just money isn’t it, it makes her happy and that time with her hairdresser is also social time for her and I think that’s as much of the experience as the haircut is.

It’s very much the same for my wife.
Her and the 3 daughters every six weeks or so have a day where they all go and get the full works. Nails, hair lunch and it’s a full days affair.

We normally end up paying and it costs crazy money but it’s there time together which is priceless, plus listening to them trying to plan the day gives me a right good chuckle.

Also twice a year they go to a spa and the girls pay for mum. They normally have a night away and make the most of it.

With the world seeming to go 100mph constantly now it’s great they all still make time to get together.

That’s what we call it when mates put a few quid into a prize pot that usually pays out to 2 or 3 people.

Last club I was at in England had about 25 members who paid in £2. Winner takes all, but all you got was to choose whether you bought platters of sandwiches or fries, or a mix of both. The pot was handed over to the kitchen every Saturday with a request to feed us. We built up a great relationship with the kitchen, and sometimes there’d be pasties or corn beef slices.

Saturday, early evening, would see us playing snooker, chomping and having great banter. Fantastic crew of mates.

Exactly this! It’s the social aspect of having a chat, getting away from the world etc. when you consider what we often spend on green fees or odds and sods for golf it’s all relative and well worth the money for them.

Shops with “mood lighting”. Just turn the rest of the lights on I’d like to see where I’m going and what child 1&2 are wasting mine and their mothers money on

Same with going to a coffee shop and the millions of choices...
Just give me coffee!!
The only coffee shop that confuses me is Starbucks with their sizing of what you have to order.

Tall - The smallest standard size on the menu, often corresponding to a "small" in other coffee shops.

Grande - Means "large" in Italian, but is the medium size at Starbucks.

Venti - Means "twenty" in Italian, but is the largest size

Whatever happened to just small, medium or large. Glad I always have a Flat white as it comes in one size, I’m easily confused otherwise.

Beware long angry post cause I’m old and grumpy

From my house by car you have to choose 1 of 2 routes.

1. Is the quickest easiest route but you have to go over a railway crossing, which if down makes the journey longer.

2. Is the slowest longest route with no crossing but narrow road with cars parked both sides so you have to mess around a bit if cars coming the other way.

3 times I have left my house this morning each time I have been stuck at the Railway crossing.
The last time the barriers were down for 9 minutes, I obviously don’t want any accidents but why do they have to be down so long?

My other irritation is people calling me asking for a favour on a Sunday morning cause they are too busy to do things.
What makes them think I’m not busy and I’m irritated with myself for not being busy.

Also I feel as a Liverpool supporter I should be watching the football this afternoon hoping Spurs can get something against Arsenal.
Instead I’m hoping Villa can do us a favour against Leeds.

It’s one of them days if anyone wants me I’m going back to my coffin

But don’t most people just order s,m or L anyway?

Tried that last week in Starbucks in Camberley as they’ve selfishly closed down Nero ordered the wife a Medium hot chocolate. In no uncertain terms was told they don’t do that size so I had to asked for a Grande and I got a medium hot chocolate 😉

Totally pointless just used sizes we all understand.
