Maybe putting it off wasn't the best decision? PPPPP - Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance. That’s why I wasn’t able to put it off anymore and as a result lost access to everything including the device itself
Look on the upgrade page and see if there is a laptop swap programme as you may need it as a back up. That was the IHub advice to tell all my lads to cover themselves in event of more of this issues.
Putting it off had nothing to do with the trash that is MOD laptops hence the reason so many have had to be replaced as part of this update. Plus if I hadn’t put it off and this occurred during the other times slots available I’d have lost a lot of data and a lot of more valuable working hours where planning for an upcoming work trip was required by time my new laptop finishes its initial set up I’ll have lost 3 working days that I couldn’t afford before nowMaybe putting it off wasn't the best decision? No need for Elf on a shelf...does an Advent Calendar not effectively do just the same thing.Elf on the Shelf!! Annoys the wotsit out of me seeing grown adults post this tripe on social media in December but now I’m

I suspect that you know, but as you asked...the new kid on the block who is a purveyor of lies and deceits...more I cannot say. And, in your humble and unbiased opinion, that one is ............................ ?
No idea I don’t buy themNo need for Elf on a shelf...does an Advent Calendar not effectively do just the same thing.
Indeed in bygone days not so bygone, behind the door opened each day was simply a little sweet - or indeed when the door was opened we saw whether we had guessed correctly the picture behind. Advent is all about anticipation building towards Christmas Day - it's not an excuse for a daily reward/treat. The treat is Christmas Day and all that that day brings. No need to over-burden yourself every day of the month.
I don't think it's necessarily down to poor quality kit. Microsoft has a track record of fubar'ing every alternate major release:Out of all the people where I am that have done the update roughly 40% has required a complete device swap. 3 more people today alone have had to book for a laptop swap as a result. It’s quite frightening the amount of failures we’ve had due to the update. Shows the poor quality of the kit we had.
Christ man you must have some serious splinters in your backside just name them and create a discussion. This beating around the bush is worse than a mum on Facebook checking into the local hospital with her kid waiting for the PM’d you hun messagesYou know but as you asked...the new kid on the block who is a purveyor of lies and deceits...more I cannot say.
Not disagreeing with what you posted as I’m not a tech guy. But of the 40% machines we had to swap out all but 2 of them were Dell laptops of the same spec and the Geek Squad said there was a compatibility issue with the hardware that model was running and that’s the trend they’ve noticed. But like I say I know nothing about that just what he told me. He could have told me it was because of the Flux Capacitor and I’d have believed himI don't think it's necessarily down to poor quality kit. Microsoft has a track record of fubar'ing every alternate major release:
Win98: good
ME: bad
XP: good
Vista: complete joke
7: great (best ever version of Windows)
8: train wreck
10: ok-ish
So it was to be expected that 11 would be another disaster.
Why not get your ITHub to set it up whilst you are driving there?I’ve just had to drive 30miles to go and collect a brand new laptop from our regional ITHub, then 30miles back and now have to go through the 2hr set up process to get it all my profile and work downloaded again.
Not possible because of the security codes we have to provide with 2 factor authentication send to either our personal device or using the USB key we have. Why not get your ITHub to set it up whilst you are driving there?
