Random Irritations

Where did you last have them?

Often find things there :ROFLMAO:
I did the ā€˜now let’s think through yesterday evening’ thing - and realised that I took out my contacts before retiring; that I wasn’t wearing them at all yesterday evening; and that I wasn’t wearing them when I drove down from Chesterfield yesterday afternoon; so I would have put them in a glasses case before setting out for home, and I recalled putting the case in the passenger side door pocket…and indeed that’s where they were.

Logical

The thought process behind the replacements they do on Deliveroo grocery orders. I've ordered one of their many types of whole milk, but that one is unavailable. Instead of replacing it with one of the other whole milk varieties, they replace it with semi-skimmed. Cheers but I didn't want semi-skimmed or I would have ordered semi-skimmed.

She apparently put the wash on this morning so I dutifully transferred it to the drier, and went to put a load on. Noticed the drawer still had powder and softener in it...she hadn't turned it on and I didn't realise it hadn't been washed because it was mostly my wet running clothes 🤢

I hear the term used but tbh i have no idea what it really means and why it - or they - might be irritating. After all a ā€˜virtue’ is a good thing surely.
It is if the reason they are being virtuous is for the right reasons, ie to support a cause. Many just ā€˜support’ something on social media for likes or to appear like they are supportive but just jump on the virtue bandwagon

The system , not only the officer, is profoundly wrong, surely?
There is no way that officers working on discharge duties should be having any dealings with a prisoner who is being transferred.
The two should never be remotely near each other.

Not entirely sure how HMP works, but I would imagine it may be along similar lines to a police custody desk, where staff are responsible for the reception and release of prisoners. And the release will either be from custody, or to transfer them to Court.

No reason I can see why the same group of staff in a prison setting cannot be responsible for release and transfer of prisoners.
