I think we will contact them or go through some sort of channel for this - definitely to try and get some money back too (not likely but no harm in trying) - but we'll need to wait for new discharge papers now so that salmonella is stated on there as the diagnosis.

I got horrible food poisoning a couple of years ago. I had to be buggies off the golf course after collapsing, this was followed by a really unpleasant week in bed. I was advised by my local doctor, and did, to report it to the health authorities. I later learnt that I was just only one of many that day.
It wasn’t in Turkey, it was the clubhouse at a prestigious English golf club. I go there every year, (though I haven’t eaten there since, the thought makes me shudder).

Sometimes you just get unlucky.

You probably don’t realise but every part of your day is controlled, time you get up, what, where and when you eat, how you make your bed, polish your boots and iron your shirt. All as per prescribed by your superiors, now you probably are at 40 one of them superiors but I’m betting there was a lot of order following to get there?.

Wow you really are clueless!! Of course things get done by collective agreement same as in any company people get together and trash out ideas, talk to the lads and take everything into account to do what’s in best interests of the people whilst achieving the results required.

I love how you’ve told me I don’t realise every part of my day is controlled! In basic trainings lads have times to be up etc yes of course they do. But being in the military is very different to being in training.

Nobody tells me what time to get out of bed as long as I’m at work in time I can sleep in as long as I want. Nobody tells anyone what they can eat everyone is free to choose to eat in the Mess and has several choices of food, or they can go cook for themselves, go get a takeaway have whatever, they want just like you can. Nobody tells me how to make my bed or what bedding I can have or what I decorate my house or room like. I don’t wear boots that need to be polished , haven’t worn leather boots in about 12years, most lads wear goretex style boots as they don’t need to be polished, are harder wearing and more comfortable.

Yes people have to iron their uniform but is that to much to ask not wanting people looking scruffy, plus is us wearing uniform any different to your local tesco worker , NUrse, Christ even Caddies!!

I’m baffled you still seem to think the military is for sheep and people being told What to do blindly and dictates what people eat and sleep etc. no different to anyone as long as your at work on time sleep when you want, eat what you want , where you want etc. as for getting to a position of being higher up that’s has absolutely nothing to do with orders, it’s about being good at what you do and holding certain levels of qualifications no different to a civvy job

I’m intrigued though do you have a phone that holds your contact number, mobile banking and emails! Because if you do guess what your information is already available in a single place !

It would not be anything as blunt as a law to make it compulsory, it will just be made vital for every element of your life, a few examples… accessing healthcare, pensions, any banking services will all require digital ID, as a director of a company I need it to file our returns at company house, if we don’t file returns we cannot continue as a business. It will become impossible to function within a few years without a digital ID.

Do all of us not to a degree get told what time to get up depending on what time our first appointment is (whether that be work or a tee time).
The same with uniform and the same with what time you have lunch and if you have a staff canteen what you eat.

Is this not just life?

If any of my staff turned up late for their shift in non desirable attire and didn’t follow the rules required to do there job (on a regular basis) I would be having words

Believe it’s not compulsory in India and so far half the people have got an ID

All of us get told what to do indirectly because we all follow the rules and law of the land

And then you have to do what you are told to do at work in some way

There are always laws to follow

You are also indirectly told when to eat sleep etc during your average working week
