Random Irritations

I'm very much not bothered by the idea of digital ID, the tax man already knows who pays me, DVLA have you driving details, government have passport info, I bank online with a company that has never had any physical branches, 905 of my shopping is done online the list goes on....

I think the people that find it scary or are so opposed to it are digging their heels in stating they already have all the above why does the government need more out of them etc, a political stand point that borders conspiracy theorists, are of an age where they don't understand it simply haven't really looked into what information is required and whats being held on them.

Lad i've known for years is can't stop talking about how it's a step closer to full governance of our lives and controlling the masses! Doesn't mention a word of it in person but posts it all over socials and open forums! But yeah he doesn't like sharing anything online or digitally :ROFLMAO:
All true, but for some reason they can't match us up with all our old pensions we paid into, even though they were recorded using name, dob and NI numbers that have never changed.

Like I said previously, I know my details are out there but I like all my info spread on all the different servers, it makes it harder for criminals to get hold of them. Also this Digital ID is all your details in one place and it will be used as a key to access services. This is not hearsay its what the people proposing it are saying. This is a vulnerability.

I have noticed (on here anyway) that the guys that think its no big deal are all ex or current military. I mean you are used to doing what you are told by the government, even if you disagree you have to comply right? Do you think you have been conditioned not to ask questions? 😁

When it wasn't poisoning you............
You know what.. we were just reflecting on what we actually ate and just remembered she ate sushi on the 3rd night I think, which I didn't bother with. That could've been a likely candidate. Sushi left out on a hotel buffet... I didn't fancy it and maybe I was right not to.

That might be true for the army and possibly in the past but as a SNCO I was continually questioning the officers who would be posted in for short tours, and come up with 'good ideas' and we would have to let them know that their idea had been tried before and didn't work. Not all listened though!

Only half listened to this but felt sorry for the lady who threw the left overs of her coffee down the drain when she was going on the bus so as not to spill any.

The next minutes she was stopped by 3 enforcement officers and hd a £150 fine imposed.

No idea what would have happened if she had thrown the coffee on the floor.
Only half heard the story but seems harsh

They fined her for 'polluting' the water system - not sure what difference a bit of coffee makes when you compare it to what the water companies are up to!

This was bonkers. They told her she should have put the cup with coffee in it in the nearest bin. I'm sure the bin collectors would love that! Getting liquids pouring out all over them, lovely.

I've done this myself, thinking like her that it was the responsible thing to do.

Before anyone asks, she was about to get on a bus and drinks are not allowed.

That's completely mental. I never would have dreamed there was any illegality around pouring a drink down a drain.

Err I'm pretty sure the water system involves plenty of filtration between drain and tap. I would hope so anyway. This just strikes me as a bogus fine to drive up profits.

The Digital ID will have the same serials that are always on the GOV.UK domain

And yep when we were in the Military we did follow orders - but orders can be questioned

What ?! Fined for pouring coffee down a drain ?!

Where else should it be poured

Exactly, and you had to do as you was told.

Been away for a few days to Brighton.
The Mrs says yesterday she wants to go to Primark to get Mickey Mouse wrapping paper. So off she goes and I go for a couple of beers.

We meet up an hour later and she only has a suitcase.

She says I bought £20 of wrapping paper but didn’t want it to get wet so bought a suitcase as well.

How much was the suitcase I reply?

£65.00 is the response as though it’s normal!!

I didn’t have the heart to say anything else 😂
As an update to this, we just got home and putting all the Xmas stuff in a spare room upstairs and leaning in the corner is some wrapping paper, yep Mickey Mouse.
Oh I must of forgot about that!!’

I think a judge would accept temporary insanity as my plea

Strong winds tomorrow....
It's recycling day......
The road is going to be knee deep in cans, bottles and cardboard.....and I ain't picking it up!

Think you need to get a greater understanding of what it’s actually like to be in the military it’s not the 1940s where you blindly did what General Melchit and Captain Darling told you to do. Nobody is conditioned to follow orders blindly, it’s actually the complete opposite you’re encouraged to question orders that you don’t understand, don’t agree with or believe are not in anyone’s best interests! There are more instances of things not being done because people didn’t agree with them than there are of blindly doing what your told!

So no we haven’t been conditioned to not ask questions, we been conditioned to question everything and what we don’t agree with push back against in the best interests of our people. Nobody does anything because the government says so!

The first thing that happens when any orders are given is to ask the room “any questions, queries or concerns”!

Isn't it just a reaction to the "stop the boats" shouters. By making everyone have to have an ID card, it should help to make it harder for those off those boats to get anything other than free air.

Not a chance I’ll be having a digital id.

They like you to think you have a choice but let’s be honest if what you are saying above is true then nothing would get done. I don’t think things are done in the military by collective agreement 😄

You probably don’t realise but every part of your day is controlled, time you get up, what, where and when you eat, how you make your bed, polish your boots and iron your shirt. All as per prescribed by your superiors, now you probably are at 40 one of them superiors but I’m betting there was a lot of order following to get there?. 🫡

But people that arrive illegally will not be complying with our rules, they are illegals. They will still be getting exactly what they get now, only difference will be we will all be carrying digital IDs to allow us to access services.
