Random Irritations

We've got a great little independent cinema in our town. It's a good bit cheaper than the multiplexes, it's spotless, very few kids and the drinks and snacks are very reasonably priced.
Al be honest, I loved the simplicity of the place. Bog standard seaside sweets at reasonable prices. I keep getting told about going to Worksop where it is cheaper and better.

Printers....mine is about to take a trip out of the window....
Printed something yesterday...no problem..Printed straight away
Today? "Printer blocked".....
No it isn't.. I've, virtually, taken it apart and put it back together, reinstalled everything, inks, paper etc etc...
Nah...still blocked......
Think it needs reprogramming with a very large axe......🤬:poop:

That is where the old Young Ones philosophy comes in. "This will take combination of subtlety and extreme violence"

Somehow woke up with food-poisoning or some sort of stomach bug when all I had for dinner last night was an omelette. And the eggs were definitely not out of date. ☹️💩

Or the latest strain of Covid.....
Funny you should say that. I just Googled whether the disgusting cough and headaches I've had for a week might be related to the upset stomach this morning, and it suggested Covid as an option. 🙁 My little girl has had the same cough, and she randomly vomitted at the shops on Saturday.

Vehicles that are obviously too big to be travelling along some roads.
We have a stack of rural roads around here, many of them are wide enough that a coach or lorry can stay on their side of the white line.
Some, however, are not....especially when there is a wide vehicle going in the opposite direction.
Many frustrating minutes queuing behind a coach and a delivery lorry trying to squeeze past each other without ripping mirrors off or gouging bodywork.
Both, I suspect, trying to save a couple of minutes rather than stay on the A road but go a mile or 2 further.....
Peasants :mad::rolleyes:

I wasn't joking when I said it :)

I spent 15 minutes on the phone with one of our group yesterday.

I had told players to arrange their partners 2 weeks ago for an upcoming pairs com

I emailed him and one other player, John, to say they were the only two that had not arranged partners.

The gist

Hi Jim just got your email

Has Simon got a partner - Yes
Has Norman got a partner - yes
and so on

Me - Only John and you do not have partners

Him - John does not want to play in the comp
Him - who else am I going to play with.

GRRRRR

If it is like mine the paper take up roller does not grab the paper every time. I never do much printing these days and the rubber band hardens.

Companies that can’t operate accurate stock management systems. Seems to be more frequent on ones using Shopify front ends. Buy an item and inevitably receive an email an hour later saying it’s out of stock.
CEF is one of the worst for this. If we are collecting from a branch that shows certain stock levels of a product you have to call them and ask them to physically check otherwise it could be a wasted journey.

I somehow doubt these coach and lorry drivers want to be squeezing along narrow lanes. Almost certainly caused by following satnav directions.

I've never understood why satnavs have an "avoid motorways" option but not an "avoid unclassified roads" option.
