Random Irritations

So....Evri have, seemingly, lost yet another parcel on its way to me...
This irritation isn't specifically about them, but all couriers..
3 parcels have gone missing this year..either from me or to me...
Where do they go?
If these companies have hundreds of employees and some of them are ripping off parcels, why haven't they retired on their ill gotten gains..
Approximately 8 million parcels get lost or stolen each year.....yep...8 million...that's quite a few isn't it.....
Where the hell are they?
Many years ago, I sold a set of Nippon iron shafts on the bay of e.

One of the rare occasions that I used Hermes (Evri). Parcel never arrived at my buyer. Hermes said it was lost in their system. Refunds/compensation issued.

8 months later, knock at my front door....its the Hermes driver with my "lost" box of shafts. I've still got them somewhere.

That’s the thing, every other courier can make it to our door and leave it in our porch. (They don’t have to ring as the dog lets us know the door has been opened) Our local Amazon guy Babatunde is a real character, always a smile and a wave. The Yodal guy just dumped it in view of everyone. That’s unacceptable.
I had an Amazon delivery yesterday, which according to the app "was handed to the receipent" (ie me) which hadn't been, as we were out in the afternoon. I went onto the Amazon app to record a non-delivery, which advised that I needed to contact the 3rd party seller. I then contact the 3rd party seller through the app, which advised me to contact Amazon instead. Really helpful service.
Incidentally, the delivery had been left in the doorway of our next door neighbour, so hadn't been handed to them either. 🤦‍♂️

We had similar with Royal Mail a few months ago. Sons Lego tank kit was “Left in our agreed safe place”
What? Thinks I, where’s that then?

I clicked on the photograph proof of delivery and I can see it’s been left in the green bins we have around here for the garden waste. Hmm… mine is in the back garden so who’s is this?

I search up and down the street knocking and asking neighbours if I can have a look in their green bins if they are out the front. Nothing.

I reported it to the supplier and they said it f it doesn’t turn up in a week then they will replace it.

On the Saturday, some guy comes knocking on the door holding the parcel, he was about to dump a load of grass cuttings into his bin when he spotted it. He lives 3 streets away!

I had a parcel delivered to ours a few years back, for an address 2 miles away, wife just took it in assuming it was one of her many orders.
I delivered it to the right address because I'm a stand up guy...not even a word of thanks when I told them what had happened. Just a shrug. I was fuming for hours.

i think there's a big game of Knockdown ginger going on with all delivery companies, if we didn't have a dog most of the time we would never know we had a delivery, they bang on the door, ignoring the great big Brass knocker on the door and the bell.

Some people are weird, I thanked the guy profusely and explained it was my sons birthday prezzie. Spent a few minutes slagging off the Postman, shook hands and parted company. 😁

Our Ted is a great watch dog. He lets us know every time someone comes to the house or walks past with a dog.😁 Absolute terrible guard dog though, he would happily bugger off with anyone who petted him! 😞

Went to the pictures last week in Mablethorpe with the grandsproggs whilst it was balddering it down. £24 for four of us. Lovely little place it was. Going again on Friday to Mansfield £48. 😳 robbing gets.

We've got a great little independent cinema in our town. It's a good bit cheaper than the multiplexes, it's spotless, very few kids and the drinks and snacks are very reasonably priced.

AI. Again. I wish we could ban it but the genie is out of the bottle. I really hate it.

As with all tech when used correctly it is brilliant, alas it's open to misuse

The world's not ready for it either.. I mean attuide to people on welfare is harsh then in reality AI and tech will put a lot of us out of work and we will need a wage paid out by government to be able to live

Pretty sure there'll be loads of jobs for humans checking that what AI has said is true and investigating its screws up when left unchecked.

Radio newsreader “There are concerns that the new nuclear power station announced today will take a long time to build and cost a lot of money” I mean really?
Do they think they are talking to 8 year olds?

The news stopped being creditable a decade ago maybe more

Bash people for not doing anything to invest in Britain

Then bash them for spending money

Oh for sure, I think it’s a terrific thing, it was the childish delivery of the news on Global that was the irritation. Does anyone really think it’s gonna be quick and cheap?😂
