Random Irritations

Immunotherapy day today, blood results came back all okay, but the CA-125 marker has doubled. Both of us are struggling with it.
She had a scan 6 weeks ago, nothing new, no noticeable growth.
Just need to understand it better, I know she is in the system and they are watching. But she is only 4 months beyond the chemotherapy, which was effective. Which may mean it won’t be as effective if repeated.
I am sure this is not bad bad news, but it doesn’t feel great ☹️. Ignorance isn’t bliss in this case .. we both deal with stuff, we don’t put it on a back burner or kick the can down the road
The last sentence is something Missis T has mentioned previously. Especially when I was being “ probed” . It went along the lines of “ a camera up yer jacksy and 40 odd pieces of surgically removed prostate biopsies will be the least of your problems if you stick your head in the sand hoping it will go away and you find it is something untoward. Good luck me man

And the “why does everyone holiday abroad?” crew stand scratching their heads…

Yeah why on earth would you want to spend less money and have guaranteed weather by going somewhere else 😄 lol and I hate holidays!

The cost of Centre Parcs these days, spent an absolute bomb in 4 days 😩
The Sherwood Forest site is 10 mins in the car. A lot of lads who worked at Thoresby pit. There wives, sisters and others were cleaners etc. a lot of shenanigans went on there. 😉
Anyway those lads managed to get cheap weekends there as part of the perks. A lot of lads when staying took their own beers etc because of the cost. There’s a Tesco at Ollerton if you run out. And a lovely golf course at Rufford. If you do stay at Sherwood Forest. There are some excellent pubs and restaurants in Edwinstowe.

I get you, but the "Why does anyone holiday at Center Parcs?" crew are also scratching our heads.
So many great places in the UK and Ireland where a family can have a week for the price of a one-person all inclusive in a crappy Euro resort. Just need to exercise a little imagination, do a little map research and find less fashionable places in nice areas. AirBnB and private holiday cottage lets are great.

A lot of shenanigans goes on anywhere in Greater Mansfield where there's trees and a restricted view from the road. 🐕🐕🚘🚘

It's a nice place to go and it's like saying why does anyone pay to fly first class. It's all a choice

We have just done holidays around the UK and Ireland - some stunning places

South West , Norfolk , Lake District

The Centre Parcs at Penrith is really nice. Go in the winter months, much cheaper, take your food and drink, box clever on the activities. It doesn't have to be crazy.

They have a crazy occupancy rate all year of around 97% so they must be doing something right. Currently going through planning at the moment for a new sight in The Borders so again, they're doing something right.

Do you have kids?
Sadly not but I'm not a grumpy child hater.
Totally appreciate that they are great for families and those who are reluctant to self-plan. I'm pro-choice.
I just think they are eye wateringly expensive; like the equivalent of resort package holidays compared to DIY booking.

Thats the one we were at, we did have a great time in fairness, weather was really good as well 😀

We were looking at Center Parcs. The European ones we could get 5 days for the same cost of 2-3 nights in the UK. The Dutch one is 45 mins outside Amsterdam, which is worth an explore. They also have more big child stuff to do.
