Random Irritations

We were looking at Center Parcs. The European ones we could get 5 days for the same cost of 2-3 nights in the UK. The Dutch one is 45 mins outside Amsterdam, which is worth an explore. They also have more big child stuff to do.
Does that include ferry across or do you sort that separately? If so, how does that impact pricing?

That's an interesting option (y)

The drains..

They blocked again.. luckily I bought an attachment for the pressure washer

I spent 20 mins yesterday rodding between man hole 1 and 2 at mine and it cleared. But looks like just went down from man hole 2 to next door so I spend 2 hours today rodding between mine and next door under my house. And same again from their side. Then jet washing it

Seems ok

However when getting the man hole cover off this morning first thing it slipped and landed on my finger. Not broken but my finger nail is half bruised. Painful as

We looked at airbnbs and hotels in Amsterdam as well and thought actually it was cheaper to stay on the center parc’s site .. so we could be dynamic if the wife was feeling not up for it, plus there are vehicle chargers there so I could possibly charge up as well .. but there are loads of fast chargers on the route to and from Calais/ostend etc

People are stupid...really, really stupid...

Mt Etna erupted yesterday
Pyroclastic flows that move a darn sight faster than anyone can run, clouds of ash and debris.

And there's tourists on the slopes...taking videos....taking pictures....stopping to look.....
They all want to die......
Shoe-ins for the Darwin Awards for sure......

The constant of innocent people being killed by IDF in Gaza

People going to collect aid , food and water are being shot

Why does no one in the western world do something about Israel - it’s genocide what they are doing
Maybe we would be accused of being anti-Semitic ? Although given Israeli history and its formation and our role in that and how we were treated we can be critical.. we are entitled to be without be accused of being anti-Semitic.

But likewise I would say that when you have a guerilla army hiding in a civilian population you are going to struggle to identify targets … which is why any form of land grabs are pointless because if that population doesn’t want you there and are supported ( China, America and Russia have a history of financial support) then you will be perpetually fighting and gaining nothing..

The irritation is really the “land grabs” why consider them to be of any value and those that do them are pretty stupid. Feel sorry for those who are drawn into some politicians dumb ideas

From day one, I never accepted "hiding in the civilian population" as a valid idiom.
Are they all supposed to gather in one building, or one street, well away from non-combatants? And let this be known so that they can not be accused of hiding in the civilian population.
Or should they all stand in one field out in the open?
Just what do those who use the phrase want and expect those combatants to do?
Just where is it acceptable and not acceptable for them to be in a very densely populated area? Becoming more dense every day as so much is laid to waste.

I am not taking sides.
I am an observer.

I find fault in the language being used.

The amount of forms I have to fill in before my daughter starts school in September.

Also, just went to a meet and greet where they gave us a load of information, most of which I already have as my boy is there, but some parents looked like they'd just got out of bed.

Was a nightmare with the twins. I ended up filling in the forms on my computer and just changing the name 🤣

It’s not just the speed of the pyroclastic flow. A shift in the wind could see clouds of sulphur gas engulfing those on the slopes - dead in seconds.

Who knows, this is warfare any advantages you can take, you take … the Geneva convention is just a load of high minded nonsense.. there may be reprisals later but the damage is done.
If it was me fighting for my home, my family etc ..I wouldn’t give the enemy an opportunity to identify me or target me nor would I give a monkey’s about how I was going to kill

If they created military bases well away from the civilian areas, these would be bombed and destroyed very quickly - even before they were operational, perhaps.
How can anyone expect them to do this?

I'm observing the conflict. Combatants and non-combatants in Gaza are doing what they are doing.
"Hiding in the civilian population" is possibly a true statement. But expecting something other than this to be happening is ridiculous.

I have a Jewish friend who fully supports what is going on. His view is “we’ve suffered car bombs, bus bombs, restaurant bombs etc for the last 70 years. How should we respond any differently? Should we accept a continuation of the same, or should we look to end the problem?”

I don’t know what an equitable solution should look like. I don’t know what the intricacies of the issue are. But I don’t think the current route is the right one.

It’s totally predictable, it won’t end not without the Israeli forces leaving and I don’t think even then Israel will feel safe

It’s a tough argument, because the question is why were the car bombings going on .. no one wants to admit they just started something.
But the Israeli nation was not born peacefully, it was created via violence and terrorism as well as.. so was it ever going to be accepted, was there ever an effort to integrate and share ? In some quarters I think so, but there is always a minority of fire starters ( and that’s both sides) who have got what they wanted and set the land on fire ..
I don’t see a solution I think the division is too big .. too much recent history now.

It won't end with Israeli forces leaving. If Hamas left, there would still be Hezbollah.

Gazans protested against Hamas, look what happened.

Its a bloody mess.
