In last couple of days YouTube has changed the way you could skip ads so that basically now you can’t…unless you pay for a Premium subscription - and I’m just not into doing that.

Brave is my default browser and straight out of the box it blocks pretty much every ad. Never seen a YouTube ad on Brave.

The only minor downside is that you might have to whitelist some websites that need to show popups to work.

The issue with YouTube and ads is you watch through the telly or a tablet. On there you use the YouTube app which you can't block ads

You don't have to use the YouTube app. I watch YouTube on a tablet using the Brave browser.
It's easy to hook a laptop up to a TV with an HDMI cable if you want a big screen.

Indeed you don't , but people want convenience and an app is far less hassle than fannying about with laptops and hdmi cables .. not to mention you then can't use the remote to control it

It turned out to be a couple of shoots that had been growing towards the sun and I had simply centred the main stem and turned it around.

Wasn't even looking for one....Just walking up the edge of the course and didn't see the hulking great spiker in time..raked all down my right arm.
Nearly took the arm clean off - still made par though
