Random Irritations

Every little helps I suppose. It’s a pretty wealthy club with a joining fee, I know they won’t be short of funds. I wonder if there is insurance for this level of damage?
I wonder what drives someone to do it, maybe they got blackballed 😬

I'm irritated at the thought of Harry settling for a heap of cash. Hope he doesn't, but I'm ready to be more than mildly irritated by him (again)!

Our work is in a reasonable sized industrial unit. It is heated by 2 oil fired air heaters, one at each end of the factory. The key heater, at the business end of the factory, started making a horrible noise last week. An engineer came out, industrial, oil engineers are like hens teeth up here which doesn't help matters, saw that the fan belt was trashed, turned off the heater, ordered a new one. 2 and a half days with minimal heat, the other heater doesn't get the heat up this end, and the belt is changed. Happy days, we are warm again. 15 minutes after he leaves it makes another racket. 'Oh that will be the bearings' said the boss after I sent a video down. The bearings were fine before, fine when the belt was fitted but now they are a problem 😡. What doesn't help is that each visit incurs a big call out fee as they are 30 miles away, no one closer as they don't do industrial.......They are back tomorrow, the bill is starting to get ugly.

Fitting and tensioning the new belt could have caused the already worn bearings to totally fail, then again you can feel if bearings are on their way out so I'm surprised it wasn't spotted at the time.

The initial diagnosis was the bearings. Then he took the belt off, the belt was goosed, and it ran without noise. Put the new belt on, no noise. I'd have been happier had he said 'I'll change the belt and bearings at the same time', I suspect they are the originals so 30yrs or so. It's the extra faff which is irritating.

It's also bloomin cold without this heater on so we had two days of cold, now we have a day of warmth but irritating racket.

I could probably do the bearings myself for a small fee 🤣

I just get through week by week by looking forward to my next round of golf at the weekend.
Following my wife's recent knee op I stayed at home for a few weeks (I'm like that). I found myself not knowing what day it was unless I checked my phone or paper. It reminded me of lockdown. I play Saturday, Monday and Thursday and didnt realise how much of a "compass" that routine is.
