Heading into another weekend and the weather has turned to misery again.

NHS Fife. Utter omnishambles of an organisation as was proven last week when my dad was admitted.
Additionally, I was sent an appointment for a MRI scan on my knee for today at 0825.
Arrived nice and early, no one here, I’m first appointment and they are somehow running 20 mins behind already. How can a process be so bad that it bottlenecks with no workload? Utter incompetence at work.
(And no, there are no emergencies going on in the background as all I asked and emergencies are taken to another hospital).

It's all NHS it seems. I had a scan on my liver few months back 0800 appointment, first of the day
The centre opened bang on 8
I turned the lights on for the receptionist and by machine was up and running I was seen at 0830
Time is relative in the NHS. It's all very Dr Who......Must be something in the training.
My son had multiple operations and appointments when he was younger. At no point was he ever seen at the appointment time, ever. First appt of the day meant you would only be waiting 20-40 minutes rather than an hour plus. It's unprofessional but seems to be accepted internally

For a while I volunteered in the hospital pharmacy. Opened at 9am. Always a queue outside and yet at 9am the doors were still locked, screens not opened up, computer not logged on ready to go. Drove me mad and felt uncomfortable with the service being offered, especially as it closed at 5pm but loads of rules about what type of prescription would be accepted after 4pm.
Moved on from that role after a few weeks.

My brother had a heart attack on Wednesday 2 years ago. He was rushed to hospital in Kirkcaldy where they did tests. The results came back on Thursday and he was taken the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh. On Friday, he had a stent fitted and was home on Saturday.
Can you imagine what that would have cost in the US

Trouble is though, urgent care is fantastic We saw that when my youngest was in ICU after emergency bowel surgery. When she went into general population the standard was appalling.
I saw similar again almost 2 weeks ago. I'm on a surgical assessment ward, waiting for surgery. At 2am the drip machine Im hooked up to has the alarm going. It kept going for 20 mins before I went looking for staff. The tea lady was the only person around, and she helped me reset the alarm. The night staff?..... probably got their heads down was the response. I didn't see any staff from 11pm until 6am, not for me or anyone.

I had 2 stents fitted about 3 weeks ago. The NHS are using a private KIMS hospital for some angioplasty ops and I was taken to Maidstone for mine. The cost of the treatment according to the KIMS price list - £9700 I reckon the NHS would be on a discount

There are awful cases in the good old us of a where you claim on your insurance but they won't cover the whole fee .. they will leave you 10k short or face doubling your premium next year

Letting agents taking the Mick
My mate sent me an offer she been sent from new letting agent in her house
£355 a month for water, gas, electric and tv licence
There is £20 management fee in there? And £45 a month "unlimited usage" fee
I'd be smashing the electric and gas
The amount in their break down they are being charged for is 3900kw of electric and 18000 kw of gas that's above average already
Thats proper taking the Mick
Even if I used my rate at full price I'd be paying £400 a month in that set up ... Well no I'd use the unlimited and pay £350 lol
But still if my ridiculous usage without the panels etc would be only just above that. It's a con

More pot hole debacles. Cracked alloy and two flat tyres this week. Still waiting for the new alloy to arrive so off the road and means I'm missing the football as I've got to be somewhere by 6pm

They are terrible round our way.
Same here. Not just potholes either, but the carriageway edges on most country roads are absolutely awful.
A lot of our local villages have had new housing developments built and the amount of heavy traffic going to and from sites has done considerable damage to the road edges, most of which have simply crumbled away under the weight.
As a consequence not only are we missing carriageway edge lines now, but there are deep drops at many points. They cannot be seen in the dark or when water filled.
I’ve seen more than one driver changing nearside wheels in recent weeks. All reported to the local authority several weeks ago, but absolutely no indication that they have even done site assessments, never mind any intention to carry out repairs.
