Random Irritations

Anything in particular to look out for? I've been with them for a few years and they've mostly been tolerable, so far.
We bought a new house in October last year and had 18 days of them supplying our energy before we switched to Octopus. I contacted them with final metre readings and they somehow managed to swap the day time electric and night time electric readings around. This meant that in those 18 days we were billed £3500 for day time electric and -£2300 for night time electric. I emailed and told them what had happened and they said they'd fix it. I then got another email from their Debt Management Team in January with a first demand for payment. I contacted them again and they said that they'd put the account on hold while they sorted it out. They've emailed me again with a demand for £1200. I've contacted their customer support team by email as well as through Facebook and Twitter but no one seems to be able to sort it out. It resulted in me sending a rather stroppy email to them today.

Ombudsman. We had a similar argument with Scottish Power. Spent months getting nowhere. Gave it to the Ombudsman, who put a stop to all the demands/red letters, and we got a nice payout at the end of it.

A friend of mine had a similar issue, can't recall the supplier, he went to the Ombudsman and it got sorted.

I've had to put in an official complaint and give them time to respond to it before I can go with the Ombudsman. This is what I sent them today....

Yeah, I'd say youre definitely mildly peeved

When people say "that's not my responsibility" when it is

Then call my manager to complain that I said it is your job so do it

But should add the gladden the heart part .. manager goes but he's right? It's your job so why are you complaining. Get on with it 😁

Should add. Tapes of phone calls pulled, sent to our boss boss to say if a complaint comes in here is what he said and it's not rude it's factual 🤣

There's nothing better than a well scripted complaints letter and yours is definitely well scripted !

Passwords. I now need a Visa password to use my card online. I thought I knew it, but after a popping into my local bank shop today, I apparently have never set one up. We did it there and then. Got home to buy the stuff....and it still doesn't work. I did think that a 13 digit password was a bit ott. The visa thing only accepted 12 of the digits. Nope it wasn't the first 12 I used either. Lord knows what the lovely lady put it but it don't work. Now I can't use another card as the website thinks it's out of stock of the item (it did this last night but cleared the outstanding transaction over night. I'll try again tomorrow with another card from another bank. It's getting harder and harder to live life.

Back in the day, when I split with a GF, we sold the house and I moved back to Ma and Pa's ( she did the same).
The solicitors doing their stuff settled the costs from the sale and everything was done.
6 months later I got a letter from them saying that there had been a miscalculation in the costs and I owed them 350 quid.
Sadly I can't remember the exact wording I used but, having outlined that they actually had very little to do as it was purely a sale, I finished with the line...
I am not in the habit of paying for other people's incompetence.
Didn't hear back from them.....😁

Bread. Dates are printed on a label that holds the bread in the bag......that it situated other other end of the bread rack it's stack in. We put a man on the moon with technology you can find in a watch today, yet still cannot print dates on the back of bread packets. Yeah, not quite a super duper technical work moan, but if you had to check dates on 100+ loaves of bread in a morning you'd soon moan about this.

With labels that 10% of the time get stuck to the bag and then rip the bag thus breaking the air tight seal

What a great example of “write an angry email, go to bed, wake up and delete it” 😆😆😆

You couldn’t even spell Meter correctly! I bet they just deleted it without even reading it 😂
