Random Irritations

I hated doing psychometric tests. They seemed to ask the same questions over and over, just phrasing them very slightly differently, but I suspect they are done like that to stop you trying to hide your true personality by fibbing.

And you’re right, Bri. They aren’t pass or fail tests. They simply try and gauge your personality. Slightly mad, in my case.

I had one for an engineer’s position with Shell in ‘76. I got the feeling it was the interviewer who started to get a bit growly, or maybe that was part of his act to get a rise out of me. The more pointed his questions got, the more laid back my answers became. It was an interesting experience, almost funny/laughable.

I think these are designed to also draw out if you’re being consistent and not just telling them what you think they want to hear/read.

Last psychometric test I did was for a course at work. Basically told me I’m emotionally unintelligent, lack empathy, sympathy and have low tolerance of overly emotional people. Got to admit I think it was accurate 🤣
Working in TDT, we did them for civvies and transferee’s wanting to come to Chicksands, definitely helped spot some odd characters.😱

I did one that basically pinned me as sociopathic…

Funny enough it was for a certain role based at Chicksands I did it for 😉

I can only imagine the sort of people it highlighted I think I work with a lot of people like that!!

Radio 2 and their Harry Styles love in fest this morning. The breakfast show has been on less than 90 minutes and they are playing his new (rubbish, weak) single for the 3rd time already. Coupled with a 25 minute interview first thing - not the thing I wanted to wake up to today - or any day. No idea why this bang average talent is seen as a heart throb and massive star.
