Random Irritations

Would that be the two-factor identification using the Microsoft email address that suffers about 100 attempted hacks every week?
Yeah once your Email address gets out in the wild and onto some sort of hacker list it's very annoying, that, and you're always worried that one will somehow succeed just by brute force.
You can solve it though.
You can have several Email aliases with Microsoft, all linked to the same account and into the same Inbox, though.
Just set your Microsoft account up with an additional Email like RichA-ONLYFORLOGIN@outlook.com or whatever, make that your primary login Email for your Microsoft account then don't use that Email for any other purpose ever. Problem goes away

Our bus company have an app (I'm sure many do) that let's you track the location and ETA of your desired bus. It's great, no more rushing over to the stop 20mins before "to be sure".
Except for the two occasions the app has told me it's a minute away from me ....... then..... it's a minute past me and there was no bluddy bus!
I now have Ghostbusters on speed dial.

Oh, I use the apps. I looked on there to track the movements of the bus I was expecting at 8.46am this morning and it never appeared anywhere on its route on the live tracker. And never turned up. I hadn’t missed it as I arrived at the stop nearly fifteen minutes early.

When the next one rocked up an hour later I asked the driver what had happened to the 8.46 and his response was a disinterested “Dunno mate.”

Helpful. Not.

I'm just baffled that the app showed the actual progress of a bus that wasn't in circulation. I naturally assumed there's a piece of kit on the bus for that purpose yet it showed the "invisible" bus approaching and passing my stop.

You’re lucky your invisible bus appeared on the app. Mine never got that far!

Thankfully, my recent retirement means I’m no longer required to use MS products. All my personal stuff is Google and Apple.

The washing plays an annoying ditty/tune when it's finished, really irritating

Well it broke and the new one doesn't make any sound when it's finished... really irritating

HID. Not only Dementia but Cancer also.
Tears
Really sorry to hear that mate.
You have the perfect place here though to shout, cry, laugh or express any other emotions you need to get off your chest.
When a family member is unwell it’s everyone involved that goes through it as well and sometimes just getting everything off your chest to a bunch of people that are generally strangers really can help.
We got your back mate

Interview went well today, will find out next week if they want a second interview and a Physchometric test, 64 questions.
Never had to a test like this before, feels excessive for the actual job, anyone done them and are they difficult for a 44 year old man 😂😂
I thought it would of been for Graduates.

Fingers crossed. What job is it?

This site has some good advice about the tests, and even some links to some practice tests.

Running onshore wind and solar farms all over the UK, I’m pretty confident on getting another interview as I’m probably over qualified for the role, but it’s based at home with travelling to sites.
Excuse to get to different courses as well 😂😂

You don’t get psychometric tests wrong. Basically, it’s profiling your personality. They’ll have a specific personality in mind, and ones they won’t want. I’ve done 3 interviews where these were part of the process. In each case they were timed, i.e. very little time to second guess what answer they’re looking for.

In all 3 cases they ran through the tests using my answers to form their follow up questions. For example, I’d answered that I’d rather watch boxing than ballet. Their follow-up was based around was I aggressive, did I think ballet was too fluffy.

I found the last one I did frighteningly accurate.

Was there Maths / English questions?
Sorry for taking the thread off line 🙈

I hated doing psychometric tests. They seemed to ask the same questions over and over, just phrasing them very slightly differently, but I suspect they are done like that to stop you trying to hide your true personality by fibbing.

And you’re right, Bri. They aren’t pass or fail tests. They simply try and gauge your personality. Slightly mad, in my case.
