Random Irritations

Bloody Dishwasher...

For some reason.. the soap tablet opens, but only half the tablet dissolves... no idea why
Could be few reasons dishwasher tablets may not dissolve due to blocked dispenser, low water temp, pressure, cycle length or clogged spray arms. All issues we had with our old one too fix , ensure the tablet is placed flat in the correct compartment, use a hotter water setting and a longer cycle, and clean the spray arms and dispenser area regularly.

That’s just what worked for us could be with a try.

Cheers LT. Thank god for that I can rest easy now I know 🤣

Not that I particularly care either way but Genuine question why does it bother people so much it’s such an insignificant thing surely !

Because it's wrong, don't ask why, it just is!
It's like having your TV volume set to a number that's not divisible by five, it's just wrong.

On the subject of dishwasher tablets.....
We once had mice get inside through the aperture in the wall where the kitchen sink drained out.
I discovered this not by seeing them but on opening the cupboard door under the sink. Several JCloths were totally shredded - presumably for nesting material.
But, lots of dishwasher tablets had been gnawed open and the contents reduced to powder. I never fathomed out that one 🤔

Blocked top spray arm or large plates being put at the front obstructing either the top spray arm rotation or stopping water getting at the dispenser.
in our model, the dispenser opens and the tablet falls into a holding thing on the top tray... Over the last few times, it either stays under-utilised... half soap gone on the top tray, or half soap gone while in an open dispenser.. I blame the Mrs.

You may well do, but the most obvious thing is poor loading. Putting the large dinner plates at the front is the biggest cause of it.

Funny as all DW advertising and user manuals have plates in the front of the lower rack
Forget the advertising, look at the tine sizes and spacing on the lower rack. The larger spaced are normally at the back, they are for large dinner plates.
It could also be the top rack is set too low, or at an angle which means the top spray arm is being stopped from rotating fully.
Do you have hard or soft water, and if hard, do you have salt in the dishwasher and the softener set to the correct setting?

Is your dishwasher heating - when ours went wrong and the water wasn’t getting hot enough, the tablets weren’t dissolving properly
