Random Irritations

😂not sure if you are being serious, what a dumb statement 😂

Sorry let me clarify

A lot of the spring and summer rain comes across to the uk from Atlantic blow over using the warm air with lots of moisture and heavily influenced by the gulf stream

Easterly winds whilst colder are a lot drier and right now are stronger so keep the warmer winds further west

Is that not one of the things that's going to cure the food crisis?

I'm on my own this weekend and so thought about going to the cinema to see a film that my wife wouldn't like. The cinema we go to, an excellent Vue, are showing Minecraft 21 times on Sunday  . That leaves very little space for other films and so any that I fancy are being shown at rubbish times.

21 times, holy smoke. If it stinks then it is going to be a painful week for them.

If the rubbish films on offer doesn't put you off, the price will. Absolute rip off.

The Vue by us is great. Tickets for £4.99, £6.49, £7.49 depending on where you sit. Meerkat 2 for 1 midweek. That's good value. Take your own drinks and sweets in, happy days

They have properly adopted the correct pricing structure

When the wife and I lived with our parents (back in the dating days) I used to get one free ticket a week so for £5 a week we went to see basically every film out there. Saw so much rubbish but it was mindless escapism.

Don't get to go so much now but when we do least we pick the better movies lol 🤣 worst one was that Johnny Depp detective "comedy"

@PJ87 I agree. We take risks on films now, you can at those prices. There is an Odeon near us that charges £12 a ticket 😳. We would go significantly less at that price, only real slam dunkers.

More companies could learn from Vue. Price something reasonable and people will go because it's reasonable

Sky could learn a lot from them when it comes to keeping customers , surely better to sell more of something at a cheaper price than sell less of something at more cost

Sky have that perfect symbiotic relationship with The Premier League. They need it it keep subscribers and the League needs their massive input of cash. Neither can keep going as they are without the other and so Sky keeps hiking prices to subsidise the costs of the Premier League and the Premier League keeps spending more money to remain that essential product on Sky and keep upping the TV deal money.
