Crowded train, eventually I find four seats, with a lone passenger sitting in the aisle seat, his suitcase on the two seats opposite him.

I politely asked him if he would mind moving his suitcase so I could sit down. He looked up at me, at his suitcase, and then returned to his book.

If I could have thrown him and his suitcase out of the window I would have done.

It’s not random and it’s far more than an irritation - the C of E and yet more ‘men of God’ being enablers. Disgusting behaviour.

It's been a morning...
Alongside the golfing irritations is the total lack of awareness many people show..
Had to dive into Tesco on the way to golf...in and out in 5 minutes.
The 300+ space car park was virtually empty as it was before 7am....
As I'm approaching my car I spy a Passat pulling into the space next to me..I'd gone in front first, he'd pulled in through the other side so we were driver's don't to driver's door
For some inexplicable reason he'd stopped so close to me that he really struggled to get out.....I just looked at him ..totally bewildered. I didn't bother trying and hopped in the other side and slid across....
There were 20 spaces within 20 yards.....why?
Just why?

Why? A total absence of brain cells and common sense. Breathtaking idiocy.

Please tell me you picked up his suitcase and moved it so that you could sit down.

You know, I would have done. But a sad indictment of this day and age is that, had I done so, I could easily have ended up with a knife between my ribs.

So I consoled myself by giving him a few choice words, much to the amusement of those sitting near him, who gave me a round of applause.

I won’t repeat those words here, as I’d have to ban myself.

As long as he was suitably humiliated 👍.

Sadly, I know where you are coming from on the first part. We have discussed this at work, you see someone dropping litter. Do you intervene? In the past I would, and have done. Now, I would be more wary and less likely to do so. That annoys me greatly but times have changed ☹️

I live on the Stansted Express line and that's been my experience twice per day, 200 days per year for the last 20-odd years.
I used to pick up people's suitcases, carry them away and unceremoniously dump them in the luggage area.
Too old and weak to risk serious confrontation, I now just sit in the always empty fold down seats in the "cycles" bit of the carriage and wonder why I ever bothered with the aggro.

My commute ranges from 45 mins to an hour

Maybe 1 hour 10 mins if traffic is painful

Well thanks to people inability to drive around without causing crashes that close the M25 it's taken me 2 hours! (I don't even use the M25)

Haven't seen the kids since I dropped them at school Friday was hoping to pick them up

(In Luck, wife had to dismiss the kids as so many staff off so I rushed up the school and got to walk them all home so least that's something)

My brother asked me yesterday if I had got my seniors free bus pass yet, now that I'm 65.
I checked and I'm not eligible until I'm 66.
My brother who lives in Scotland has had his since he was 60.
And he's had free prescriptions since 2011.
I had to wait until I was 62 in January of the year I became 60 they changed from that to whatever was the ladies retirement age.

I got mine several years. I used a lot for a couple of weeks then the guy who owned the local bus company closed it down.

Since the pandemic there have been major cuts to all bus services in our area so I have not used it in the 2020s.

I once crashed in to a car that had parked behind me (chucking it down with rain and I was driving a transit with no rear vision).
Nobody else in the car park other than us 2 within 100 yards.

I too really do not understand the herd mentality when it comes to parking.

I went to report it to the police but they did not want to know as it was a private car park.

Hope no-one was seriously injured (or worse) as it could make your flippant comments look bad.

Flippant or not it will be caused by somebodies inability to drive in a straight line.

Other day was a drug driver that was arrested so decided to run across the motorway.

Sympathy for anyone caught secondary from IE if they are hit but majority of accidents now are caused by poor maintaining of cars or lack of ability behind the wheel

IMO most accidents are caused by aggressive/impatient driving, tailgating for e.g. and driving without consideration for the road conditions, such as volume of traffic or visibility. It should really be quite difficult to have an accident on a motorway!

I wish they'd stop calling them "Accidents"......accidents are unavoidable..
The vast majority of accidents on the road are crashes...

Inconsiderate drivers

The people who just blank you when you let them out , or you stop to let them pass a parked car on their side of the road , or the ones that just barge passed the car onto your side of the road forcing you to stop , add in idiots on electric scooters , and now electric bikes who just fly around without a care in the world

Yep, agreed re the inconsiderate bit. Courtesy and manners cost nothing.

Sad news but relieving maybe?

A good friend of the family (was my granddad's old boss, they were best friends) has just passed away. He has been in a home with dementia for a while. Very sad. At least he is at peace

Will miss him. He taught me how to tie a tie and used to play golf with him a lot. He came with us to Florida when we were young as we were closer with him and his wife than my nan and grandad. Prob why it's hit me harder than when grandad passed earlier in the year.

Hopefully I can make the funeral
