On Gregg - not sticking up for him in any way, shape or form, but Johnny Vaughan made a good point on the radio when I was driving home yesterday. Did anyone tell him he was being inappropriate at the time? It seems like these days you get the witch hunt and trial by media a long time after the fact, with people banding together. If he'd have just been told the first couple of times that he was inappropriate, maybe he would have packed it in sooner? Or maybe he was and he ignored them, I don't know. You just seem to get this massive pile-on to a different celeb every couple of months. Not so long ago it was Russell Brand, but that's all disappeared now it seems.
There are instances of him being taken aside by producers and instances of contestants expressing distress. There are lesser reported allegations of remarks and actions which are staggering, which beggars belief that he continued for years.
Downing Street have now expressed concern to the BBC about continued examples of bullying and misogyny.

A lot of the issues I suspect were people and mainly female prob felt they couldn’t speak up at the time , it’s still a very male dominated arena and it must be very intimidating at the time
The BBC apparently investigated him in 2017/18 and he was allowed to continue to work.

Surely anyone with commonsense who had been investigated would take it as a warning and adjust their behaviour moving forward, not take it as a green light to carry on in the same way as before.🤪

Can’t belive there are people who think he’s not driving his car because it’s in a traffic jam.

“ I’ve been driving all morning minus the time I spent at the traffic lights “ 😂😂

I didn't actually. Barely 8am and several of my pet hates have managed to manifest themselves already.

And I'm trying to get the Irritations back onto the Random track.
Car v Bike v Highway Code bores me.
Bikers who have hard boiled eggs,. then bike to office while drinking red bull; reach office fully drenched in sweat and go onto shower and then apply shave, deo and perfume..... makes me vomit..

It’s in traffic and as per the law you are still supposed to be in full control of your car and concentrating on the car and the surroundings
It's in a traffic JAM, the car doesn't need operating to make it not move.
Fining someone £200 for making his car not move in a traffic jam does not make the road safer in my opinion.

Agree. The law is supposed to be there for safety, but there's zero chance of it causing an accident if his car is essentially parked waiting for a light to change, provided he puts the phone down before moving off. Fining him for that is just a money-making exercise.

even in a traffic jam you are required by law to be in full control of his car , what if the car in front suddenly moves whilst he is busy concentrating on his phone and then people behind let him know and he then suddenly leaps forward and could cause issues , people can still hit other cars in traffic jams due to a lack of concentration which includes using a phone

How do you know when the light changes if you have your eyes down on the phone

Ok, you're driving along the motorway and there's a big smash up ahead. Road totally blocked. Tailback for miles. Calls home. "I'm in a big queue, there's been an accident, I'll be home late''
£200 fine and 6 points?

He was also fired from Inside the Factory a few years ago because of comments he made to female staff working in the factories. He must be really thick not to realise his behaviour is wrong.
And I get the "It's his generation" thing. He is only 6 years older than me and I was brought up to know things like that are wrong. Even after spending 30+ years in the military where things could get a bit 'industrial' I know how to read the room and act accordingly.

There are rules of the road, just like there are rules in golf.
We don't like them all..nobody does.
But break them and a penalty can be applied.
The driver broke the rules..simple as that. No ifs or buts..
If the cyclist is shopping car drivers then I hope he's doing the same to bus, lorry and taxi drivers as well as cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians who all regularly break rules...
The Zombie pedestrians with their faces in their phones
The trick cyclists who obviously want to die
The roads are full of idiots from all branches of road users...target them all or just get on with life coz it's too short.

It's not a money making exercise is it, he was reported by a member of the public for using his mobile while driving . The law is very clear, you can see in the video he knows he's been busted.
