Random Irritations

I'll give it a try. Is there any value in trying E5 and assessing the difference or is the price difference more than the gains?
Myself and my wife run both of our cars on E5. My wife is not a mechanical person, but even she can feel the difference in engine noise, smoothness and MPG so refuses to put E10 in hers. So if she can tell the difference, there must be something in it;)

For me, I only run Super in the M340 due to the turbo upgrade.

In the big cruiser, I can’t tell you the difference in either smoothness or engine noise, and any difference in mpg hasn’t justified the cost. For me!

In the tuned 340 though the higher octane certainly makes a big difference to the HP. Noise wise, well it’s a noisy beast anyway not sure regular petrol would make it much quieter once the exhaust valve switch is flicked.

I find that just driving in manual and making sure I’m in the highest gear that’s possible (taking conditions in to account) returns better gains than more expensive fuel.

Just my experience though.

HID runs a Merc CLA45S and will only use super regardless of the cost as it’s what Merc told her to use.

So at the point where money actually starts to mean something to them, you stop gifting it?

Boomers gonna boom.
Don't be a twig.
Firstly, a birthday present is just that....since when is it always money?
Once they reach legal adulthood, they are no longer children so presents stop being given because they are adults.

Perhaps one day you will grow up and understand respect for someone elses opinion.

I never give money or vouchers as presents. If I do not know someone well enough to know what they like then we at the card only stage. Not one for giving presents for the sake of it.

I can remember my 24th because it turned out to be the pivotal one.
I got one card from my mum and dad, one card from each of my two brothers and one from the person in the room right now. No presents or cash.
I hadn't mentioned to anyone at work, just did a normal day.
Life suddenly felt so much better.

Vouchers are the worst present well were growing up.. people were always of the opinion that money is "rude" no . Money is the voucher you can spend anywhere!!!

My aunt's used to get me £5 voucher for Xmas each. Very kind however never once did they talk

£5 whs
£5 hmv
£5 Argos
£5 Wollies

Rather than all going right this year everyone get hmv vouchers ..

You do realise that by sending this, you’re not abiding by your own final sentence? Of course you don’t.

I didn’t say that it was. And you know that it wasn’t. But as always the internet is full of people who exaggerate or misrepresent to further a point they want to make.
It also has its fair share of people who only seem to want to provoke reactions out of others. It's good that they're outnumbered.
