reading the GM Mag and noticed that David Howell gad a 33"putter in his bag, maybe contributing to his back problems, who knows,as everyone probably knows a few tour players have short putters.
what is the most common length of putters on the forum?

to be honest i dont know the length of mine but i think its 34" :D I choke down an inch though.
I know the assistant pro in my club has a putter thats less than 30" and he thinks it helps his putting and certainly does not look like he has back probalems :D
i'd say it is really all down to posture

Mine is 34" Centre shafted Ping. I tend to stand kind of tall much like Chris wood when he is putting. Im only 5' 10" but it feels comfy to me plus my eyes are directly over the ball also.

I use a 35 because of back problems. I find that if I use anything less I am stooping over the ball, and this creates back ache with me, especially when practicing. I also don't believe this "must have your eyes over the ball, and your hands must hang down freely" mallarkey. Putting is an individual and seperate skill, and one size does not fit all imo.

I used to use a 32" putter but just changed to a 34". I've had back problems in the past not necessarily linked to golf, and I think using a putter that short didn't help either. I've changed the putter and finding now that as I'm standing a bit taller the putting stroke seems to flow a bit better

I had my oddysey cut down to 31'' and it was pretty good, suited my old style of putting but my back did ache when I practiced.

Decided to give the putting a make over and now I use a 35'' Scotty, Its all about the lie angle :D
