I'm getting that non West Coast Scottish contingency on here will have no idea what I'm on about but those who know, KNOW

No we have this on the East Coast too, but I liked to eat the side pastry first just leaving the base and the meat, made it a much neater fit, usually tried to squeeze a few of the chips on their too ... mince pie supper and a buttered roll ?

I like a steak pie surprise.
It's actually curried chicken with a puff pastry lid.
And as it's me who makes it, it's neither a pie or a surprise. :)
I swap the curried chicken for bolognese mince occasionally which is nice too.
