2026 goals

Clubs will be getting there final outing of the year on Sunday when I have a round with Mrs M. Might be lucky if I’m home for a round at Christmas but not likely.

Winter this year will consist of trying to get a few swings in each day in my room out in Norway when I’m actually in it with a training club I’ve packed to take with me. Other than that won’t be swinging an actual club until end of March/April when I’m home..

2026 Goals: hopefully join a club again, if I can get closer to scratch that’s a bonus. But main 2 goals will be play more rounds with my wife and just have fun on the course enjoying the game and the company of whoever I play with.

Safe travels 👍

If the course is open, I'll be playing. If it isn't, I'll be visiting the range and putting green.

The goals will be the same as last year. In 2024 three of us sat having a beer and discussed this. The other two set dreams which proved to be unrealistic, I just set myself a target of maintaining my then index of 8.2, I finished the year at 8.1.............jackpot.

The target for next year is exactly the same.

Will be still playing as much as I do in Summer (2-3 times a week). Links course so will rarely be closed. Weather might curtail a few rounds through the Winter.

Got down from 12 to 8 this year, so aim for next year is to consolidate and maybe retain that sort of handicap, possibly shave a shot or so off it, but that will be a challenge (I'm 61, played for 25 years, & never been single figures until this year).

I'll be playing right through if the course is open, though our back 9 has closed this week and probably won't re-open until March.

We plan on heading back to the UK for a couple of years so I can retrain but I'd really like to finally break par at my course over here before we do, it's probably the easiest course I've been a member of but for some reason I can't seem to get over the line

Bought a practice bag and 40 balls about a month ago with sights set on the range this winter, short game area etc…

Still in the boot of the car
