Point scoring and pointless circular discussions

Hillside was probably the most hungover I have been on a golf course. Stiill managed nearest the pin with a horribly thinned iron shot that had no right to be anywhere close.
I remember that. You were so pissed off at winning it:ROFLMAO:

Dont count on it.

10 years ago on here you could pull a Scottish meet together with 40 heads in about 4 weeks, nowadays you'd be lucky to get a 4ball.
Aye... would have been that long ago that Chris (FatTiger long left the Forum) & I were 2 of the 3 English guys who went up for Craw's, 36-strong, Machrehanish trip..... another memorable long haul trip.

I hope that people do come to their senses in terms of toning it down. I used to be in the GolfMagic forum that was quite lively and chatty. A combination of too many people arguing, and a horrendous "upgrade" to the forum software saw that wither and die away. Let's not do that here folks. Enjoy the banter, but please remember that one persons banter is another persons abuse.

I can remember the matches against HDID. The Scottish one was at Blairgowrie, plenty of banter, but a good laugh. A lot of those guys joined and stayed for a while, though most are gone now. I'm still in touch with a couple of the guys. From memory I don't think the game they had down south was quite so friendly from memory.

Haha... yes I was with the HDIDo forum at that Midlands match that Fish organised & then pulled out. Bomber Harris & his mate were endlessly winding the GM guys up. I played with Bomber against RickG & partner. First time I'd met Rick. We won a bit easy with Juggles (the late David Barnard) taking the longest drive that was set up on a dog-leg... haha. I still have the HDIDo shirt that they provided for us. Was shortly after that the forum pretty much folded due to the previous named endlessly trolling.

We could have a debate about where the Midlands starts!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I've been all over the UK as a result of forum games! Long may it continue!
From Hatfield to the Yorkshire border. And from Lowestoft to St Davids.

EDIT: Oooh, I've just looked at my own words there and I think I could make that a chorus of a song. :geek:

Beau Desert was once a venue for North vs South, I seem to remember?
That said, if we're including Scotland, then a little further up might be necessary! Bondhay is somewhere I've wanted to go back to for ages, and could work.
Or even further up/down the M1/M6 of course.

Sympathy OP. You start a thread about how opening a post on one topic end up ends up as a back and forth on something else, and how people should start a new thread rather than hijack the original one...

And it ends up as a thread about forum meets and locations past...

You have a point.

I was about to say, we need to open another thread if we want to dicuss a new forum meet.
But at least in this thread everyone seems to be getting along and not bickering.

I like the way threads organically drift off topic and morph into a completely different discussion. It’s like an evening in the pub with your mates.
