Where is the love for Nike gear?

For the last couple of years i have seen a common dislike for Nike stuff on here and the recent Rory signing has rekindled it. I don't get it.

I have used a Nike driver and loved it, my current 3wood is a Nike and my go-to club. My Nike Shoes are far better than the (where did my heel go) Adidas 360 i used last year and the Nike VR pro combo irons are golfing porn.

Why are so many on here whores to Taylormade, Callaway and Ping.

Go on give Nike a try, you might be surprised.

Because Nike are relatively new to he market I would guess and don't have the following the more established brands. It may well change over time who knows.

Personally, I've never tried any Nike clubs so can't say I'm anti-Nike

I had the original Nike pro combo irons and loved them although the Nike speed step shaft option they were using at the time was a bit naff.Didnt big Phil start this anti Nike thing off years ago when he praised Tiger for winning with sub standard gear?

i've never hit a nike club but i'm tempted by that new driver, it looks great

Same here. Looks alone has it for me. Big deal if you see the cavity when you take off the headcover, from the top it looks superb. Wouldn't mind hitting it but would probably have to wait a while before I could afford one even if it did give me good numbers (which in itself would be a miracle).

Got a Nike method putter, it's out of contract at this time, but you never know. However, out of all the golf gear I would look at, Nike does nothing for me. If it did I would use it.

My dislike for Nike is from way back in the day. They made high top shoes and everyone wanted to wear the air Jordan's and I hated them. They looked shocking! Nike will never be a part of my bag because of this. That's my story and I am sticking to it

Nike blades look good. Not much for the look of the Covert nor their putter range, especially the Method concept.

Never tried a wedge of theirs but the kit looks good. Performance, however is a different matter. No good looking the part if they perform like a Sports Direct special.

Had the pro-combos for about 7 years, and whilst I've looked at swapping them (for no other reason than to spend on golf stuff) and nothing has yet come up to them, apart from the new vr pro-combos. And I know it's ugly as sin, but the Method Concept putter works like a dream.

I think Nike might go for world domination now....

Nike have always made good clothing but the shoes don't appeal to me. That's just personal taste. The Pro combi irons were good when I hit them. The problem is there is just so many good makes and models all vying for the same custom and that's just the top names. Add in lesser lights in terms of profile like Cleveland (in terms of their irons not their wedges) cobra, Adams, MD and you can see the problem anyone has trying to be #1 in the market
