Inspirational performance, but i'd personally stop short of saying best ever GB athlete ever - I fear the IAAF doping team will find him out retrospectively in years to come.

Well done to the 1500m girls - all 4 made the semis for tomorrow.

Also, has anyone else noticed how many athletes are running under a flag of convenience? - The amount of afro-american athletes running for Turkey seems odd to me

Mo Farah - 4 Olympic Golds , 7 World Championships Gold

Failed Drug test - zero

Clean unless proven otherwise

His record stands there on top

Surprised you haven't mentioned his parentage

Is he any more British or less British than Johanna Konta ?

I thought it was a brilliant race, his performance during the race, well if it was American I would of thought big head. He just oozed class. Just begs the question why is he finishing whilst still at the top.

I absolutely agree with everything you say, but i would also agree if you'd said the same about Lance Armstrong several years ago.

I love watching Farah race - he is superb at what he does, but I've got a nagging feeling its all going to come crashing down one day.

Just because someone hasnt failed a drugs test just now doesnt mean they wont fail it 5/10 years from now - just ask Jessica Ennis

Jesus Christ mate, let it go.
Thread celebrating an athletic legend ruined already.
The 2nd post insinuates drug taking yet you highlight my post?

Konta had a superb Wimbledon and it's ok for him to mention her background.

Your comments are misdirected imo.

Some people cant help it unfortunately mate.

Mo Farah is a legend, perfect role model for young athletes, so so humble and clearly works hard to be the best he can be.
I have no issue with Farah or any other British sports person, absolutely agree he is a role model.

I just don't understand how someone can have such double standards.

I appreciate that but does it really matter... I can also understand that Phil can and has made some less than glamorous remarks on here (as we all have) but do we have to resort to picking arguments for no reason?!

Not an argument, merely an observation and a question.

Can I not even start a thread celebrating a wonderful amazing achievement without you looking to score points . And Mo Farahs father in British by birth.

Fantastic achievement there's no denying, but he's to athletics what Spieth is to golf for me, I just can't warm to him, no real reason, he just doesn't interest me.

As for greatest ever athlete, not for me, unless your solely looking at athletics, but then I think decathlon winners like Daly are truly amazing athletes, but if you mean a more general sporting athlete, then what about Murray, Botham, Hoy, Piggott, Redgrave, Addlington, Peters and the list is endless TBH.

No doubting his ability and his gongs, but greatest ever athlete has to be a real milestone IMO, has he achieved that milestone over and above others, not yet IMO.

How about that rowing chap?
5 consecutive Olympic gold medals, 3 Commonwealth games and 9 world championships

Talking athletics not rowing

But Farah also deserves to be amongst that list of GB greatest sportsman

Double double Olympic champion over 5 and 10 k

Has the chance to be triple double World Champ at the same - its achievements that like Redgraves no one in my lifetime will ever achieve again so for me he is our greatest Athlete ever and is amongst greatest sportsman for GB
