Mcilroy's career in pieces!

He shot level par today, apparently that's 'blowing up' and (apparently according to the Tiger haters) shows that you've not got it any more... oh well... goodbye Mcilroy, t'was fun while it lasted....

:p

well said, and it wasn't even the pressure of the final day that caused the meltdown level par..........i wonder if wozniwhatshername will leave him now after that shoddy round?

Perhaps Rory and Caroline will become this years Nick and Diana?!!

If only I could play like Rory on one of his off days I'd be more than happy.
He wasn't that bad, wa she? He's only two off the lead. It could all change tomorrow.

Taking a slightly more serious swerve for a second - Level par can't be considered a blow-up but, put into perspective, when your closet rivals are all shooting 70 or less it's not good. That's what Tiger did and that's what Rory's done.
OK Rory's got time to pull it back but if you can't match your rivals scores it makes it very hard to win.

His chip on the 18th was utter merde. He needs to sort that out.
Yes, awful chip and run given how much green he had to work with. Interesting that Howard Clark said it was about 18 inches away from continuing down the slope and into the water! Is Westy still working with Mark Roe on his short game? If he is then the 'great short game guru' will probably keep quiet about that one!!!

I thought he was working with that other short game bloke now? (Who's name escapes me).

Westwood's long game is so good, he just can't seem to get it done around the greens, it's always been the case. Shame really. I really hope he can get a major. I'd hate to see him be another Monty.

It has to be something in the way he reads the greens, tha number of times he looks perplexed so he clearly has put the correct stroke on the ball. Although I have noticed that when he putts well he is virtually unbeatable... I hope he gets his major this year!
