Losing weight/fitness thread

Yesterday, when I was in the office out of no where (as in I didn’t hurt it in any way) my foot/ankle/achilles twinged. Didnt think anything of it at the time. I’ve had an awful nights sleep. Whenever I move my foot I get a shooting pain, which is getting worse.

My foot doesn’t appear swollen but
walking/weight baring feels difficult. No idea what I’ve done and no idea if I can/should walk on it. Really weird. I’m gonna get some ibuprofen and paracetamol in me which will hopefully at least take the edge off and reduce inflammation.

Gutted as I’m approaching 700 days of walking at least 10k steps and looks like the streak could be over before I reach 2 years.
Weird isn't it. I've noticed as I go through my 40s that just moving hurts sometimes. Like I need oiling.

Mile repeats this morning, I've really struggled to get myself to go out this week. So much so that, I'll be running Saturday and Sunday to get my runs in.
Not horrendous as it's a deload week.

Intervals where 2 mile repeats with a 2 minute rest between. Miles where to be at 7:50 minute miles. Mile 1 - 7:55 and Mile 2 - 7:32.

So pretty happy with that.

Made a small change to my lunch time eating habits. Instead of buying pre sliced cheese and grated cheese. I bought a small grater in B+M for a pound.
I now use far less cheese than I normally would.

Its actually so much easier to clean than the big grater I have at home.

Its got to save me a fair bit of calories over a month.

Down half a kg today 😀

Run/Walk/Run 4 Mile session today, decided on a 3 min run/30 Sec walk strategy to see how it went.

1 min out of house it started to rain, turned to hailstones then sleet, then snow, lasted about 10 minutes.🤷‍♂️

Ran just over 5 mile in total with the 4 mile run/walk/run miles being completed in 35:21 or 8:50 Avg per mile.

Reasonably happy with that considering nearly 5 minutes of that was walking.

Weight staying pretty stable only 1lb off this week.

Really struggling with motivation and consistency due to how works been since start of the year. But did 10km on the Rower today in 46mins at a steady pace and then 10 sets of dead hangs for 30secs each.

Weight is still to low at 72KG due to the amount of physical activity work has been since the new year with not a lot of food Due to conditions. However, Flying home Sunday afternoon so can reset and get a proper routine going for rest of the year from Monday and get the weight back up to a stable place.

After losing focus in November and December for personal reasons , it’s back in full swing, however there’s a weird situ in 2026.

why do 50% of the people using the gym now feel the need to either v-blog it, stream it or film it on an insta 360?

Our gym has put up no mobile phone signs everywhere but these dam movie stars are causing long waits for machines 🤬🤬🤬

Doesn't count as a workout if it's not on social media....(he says after talking about every run he's done in this thread.)

Did 3 miles today, was just supposed to be a gentle run, first 2 miles in just over 8 minutes per mile, felt pretty good to be fair, hit a big hill and it finished me, legs went to jelly and that was that 🤣🤣
Hamstring feeling good though although my groin is still playing up.

A combination of tablets and having it on ice/compression ‘loosened’ my ankle by lunchtime. Went for a leisurely swim to test the water (no pun intended) and all good.

I got back and the dog was looking at me with quizzical eyes as my non-working days usually involve a long walk and/or a trip to the beach. Eventually gave in, only intending on a walk to the farm so he could blow the cobwebs off. Ended up being out for a few hours, enjoying a very slow stroll in a bit of sunshine. >10k steps streak in tact.

Ankle/foot is still not right. Hoping it was a freak issue that is resolving itself and not something that is going to be an actual injury to deal with.

30 min full body Metcon this morning including rowing machine and some barbell exercises. Certainly got a sweat on and 15mins of mobility work after has left me feeling refreshed.

Chatted to my pal that does the programming for me and he’s worked out a 12 week programme that focuses on S&C to build more speed, power and flexibility for golf 😎

Looking forward to starting it Monday and see where we can go.
