Losing weight/fitness thread

I only eat the same for breakfast (weetabix), would get proper bored having the same meals every day. At least you seem to live a little by varying the protein at lunchtime :ROFLMAO:
I have 2 weetabix with hot milk, and a bit of sugar everyday, apart from the weekend when I treat myself to Krave or some other sugary goodness. Don't get sick of it.

Enjoyable 1.2km swim. Made better by the knobhead with all the gear, who has no regard for anyone else swimming in the same lane, getting a telling off (rightly so) from some old boy who he barged into.

Felt faster than it was, which is slightly disheartening, but pleased with my technique over all.
All the gear. What else is there other your trunks? I'm picturing him wearing a snorkel and flippers 🤣

Has anyone had any success seeing a physio about a bad back? Had a lower back and now hip issue for years now. Been through the doctors to try get some physio on the NHS which was basically 3 10 minute appointments and a text with YouTube stretches. Referred me to a specialist, who was the original 'physio' at the doctors which I thought was going to be a longer appointment and some physio. It was a 12 minute appointment, basic questions, bend to to the left and the right and advised that stretches is the answer. Case closed!!

I do regular stretches, pay to go see the chiropractor which helps for a short while, switched to a standing optional desk and still it's the same.

Considering seeing a back physio/specialist but wondering if it will be more money wasted. Thinking I may be best just increasing stretches and carry on going to a yoga/pilates class when I can get out of work.

Sounds weird but it might be your mattress. I suffered with lower back pain for years. It’s barely noticeable since we got a decent mattress.

This aged like a fine wine btw. Almost like I manifested it.
To be fair, as takeaways go, I don't think McDonald's is the worst you can have in terms of calories. Last time I got one (on my daughter's birthday last week) I didn't have any chips, just had a burger and 6 nuggets. If I input that into MFP, a Big Mac for example is 550 cals, 6 nuggets are 287, so a total of 837 calories. It's not really that awful is it? Goes up if you add fries of course, but I find their fries awful anyway so I'm better off without them for two reasons.

The calories in McDonalds is the least of your worries - fat, salt, sugar are all way off the scale

We’ve had a ridiculously expensive Tempur hybrid mattress for a few years. I’ve been struggling with a bit of back and hip pain for the last year.
It was on a modern base with those springy, laminated beech slats. I put the phone on video to record what happens when I get into bed. The slats were knackered and completely negated the support that the mattress was supposed to provide. They were dipping by about 3 inches under my hips.
Replaced them with solid beech slats a month ago and I’ve never slept better. Back pain has gone.

Never have fries from McDonalds any more - much rather two burgers or a wrap and a burger. More filling and decent amount of protein too.

A decent sports physio will sort you out. if you're a desk worker it's highly likely that your legs and hip flexors are weak/tight.

Have a look at 12 minute foundation training. it's a lower back/hip pain video it works. i really should do it more often

For anyone struggling with sweet snacking....it's probably not a revelation or anything, but I've become quite fond of mixing greek yoghurt (either 0% or 5% if I want a bit of luxury haha) with protein powder and adding either some fruit OR my new favourite is crumbling a biscuit or two on top. I used protein powder from the protein works as it's by far the best I've tried and tends to be pretty good value for money)

Hits the spot and a decent portion is about 300 cals for 30g of protein or so.
