Just to say I've been really really impressed with pharmacy 2 u and their aftercare for the jab.

It hasn't worked for me. That's personal, it does for others. However the support when I reached out (on a weekend aswell)

So the Mrs was in Iceland with the kids after swimming (I'd sent her this) and she's picked me up these

Happy days

Good on you for trying mate.

Really surprised of the effect Mounjaro had on you, as I know a few on this and they've been fine.

Reading your efforts, there are certainly time constraints in food prep with the kids etc and the jab is only an appetite surpressant, so you've still got to eat and eating the right stuff has to be a start, rather than jab and hope. I know you've tried by the way, but smaller portions come after the right food choices for me.

From a personal perspective, I'd still recommend Slimming World for the food education alone and they LOVE fella's!

Yesterday I did an exibition and took two tangerines only as a snack, as knew there's be places to grab something, but didn't bother. Had a pre-made 'healthy' goan beef curry when I got home and all in all managed on sub 1,000 calories. I've been up since 7am today and not had anything just yet, but will have a late breakfast/early lunch of brown toast, beans and two fried eggs, which will do me until dinner. BUT, there's a new kebab restaurant opened near us, so who knows, might stuff my face there later.

Anyway, all I'm saying is I still say it's about the foods you eat and you can lose weight, without weighing every day and setting a daft goal. I'm pretty normal and dropped two stone in 2024 and so far 4lbs this year and I don't excercise more than normal daily activities.

All that said, there's me and wifey and work aside (my team all eat heathy) we have all the time in the world, so that also makes it easier.

Try and keep at the good eating mate and you will see it drop off. Just don't obsess over it.

Get yourself a cook book or two and make them yourself, much better than ultra processed food

I can cook fine , cooking isn't the issue. It's time.

We both love cooking, me more than the wife but she doesn't like when I take ages cooking lol

We discussed last night trying gousto, or hello fresh but ruled it out as soon as we have the kids in bed we both just want to be able to eat a meal and not have to spend the time cooking. (We had a period where one did bed one cooked but had some issues with one of the kids again and it just meaning missing that time again)

The wife can cook as can I and the eating at home isn't the issue it's what to take for work..so going to try more variety.

Also spoke about using simmer meals for me for work but looking at Iceland selection of meals it will be far easier and cheaper to grab them from their slimming world and protein range. Makes meal planning a lot easier for my long days

That said about cooking I can't wait until I can handle richer food to be able to do the wife and I curry goat again, found some goat in the freezer I'd bought month or so ago

Please take this in the manner it is meant.😀
You do have time. Plenty of people have jobs, kids, etc and cook meals all the time. It is just a case of sorting priorities. Maybe less time on here (and other social media?) posting about every aspect of your life and spend time preparing stuff at weekends. The chicken dish you did last week shows it can be done, maybe need to sit down and plan meals the same way you plan trips away and charging the car 😜.

As I said before, this isn’t mean to be a dig.

Unfortunately if it was that simple it would be done. It's amazing that we used to be able to do all these nice things before the twins arrived and things went from easy 1 child to 3 overnight.

It's easy to say do x y and z but as anyone who sees the work we put into keeping things going it's always "I don't know how you do it all" " how do you do this every day"

Adding another spinning plate isn't possible at this stage.

Sat down with the wife today. Had a discussion about the jab and we have agreed I'm coming off it. I've got one dose left but I won't take it , the upset tummy in morning isn't great. Manageable ISH once it passes but it's the mental health aspect. My confidence has gone completely in decision making. Plus she said the meal planning is hard to manage around the kids. It's like she has to make herself meal for 1 then I make a meal and they have their dinner.. just not good for us all.

I'm about 8kg down ATM. I'm hoping to keep that off. That would be great

Looking at simmer meals for faff free meals prepped ready for me to take to work. That would be good 👍
Sounds like the right decision for you. Pleased you realised early as I imagine it might have been more difficult to withdraw.

I know you’ve mentioned on here about your batch cooking. Getting back to that will help with the eating habits and freeing up time. Albeit quite an investment in time and to initially do.

Yeah that's never really stopped tbh, I have say 6 portions left ATM? It's more the pace of turn around. Needing breakfast, lunch and dinner at work on the long days. I'll still do all my curries and cottage pie it's adding these other meals as options to not have to batch cook as often

What @AmandaJR said about the snacking IE the high protein snacks could help rather than the snacking between the meals that's what's killing most. Always has

My wife sent me a countdown app (nothing to do with Whitely/Vorderman) that lays out all of my planned trips this year. Not usually something I would be bothered with. However, it has added a bit of additional motivation for me, seeing I’ve got X months/weeks/days.

I can vouch for watermelon to snack on. Massive volume for few calories. Only issue might be sugars, if that is an issue. I’ve also recently been snacking on pickled onions (loads leftover from Christmas buffets). And over the last week have had many many crab sticks after getting a taste for them after not having for many a year. These are something like 15 calories each and 1.3g of protein in each one - so stave off hunger.

Thanks I'll give pickled onion a go. Kids always love a bit of watermelon so I'll try and nicked some of them lol 🤣

Have you ever tried the low carb way? It can be VERY effective and plenty of options to prep in advance. Usually keeps people fuller due to higher fat and protein content. Crisps would be a no no plus most processed snacks. The key is to not get "low carb" options of carbs imho. I don't think you have a sweet tooth so cravings shouldn't be too bad. Worth a try. Don't count calories, count carbs...

I'm on some strong meds for a bad skin condition so have stopped drinking alcohol for six months, I've also cut out junk type food like biscuits and crisps etc and improved hydration, I've lost two stones without any additional exercise.

The wife and I are both going to try a hybrid slimming world as we both enjoyed it before.

Not cutting too much down ie not completely no oil as that ruined us before when we came off it but things like less snacking after dinner

I do have a sweet tooth just for things like pure suger it seems aha like fizzy stuff! Lol

When do people on here eat their main meals? We have breakfast (weetabix/porridge) at about 07:00, lunch is between 12:00 and 13:00, depending on work meetings (salad, hummus, sandwiches or similar with apple and a banana) and then main cooked meal around 17:00. Only other thing is biscuit or sweet with a cup of tea at 19:00. No snacking during the day.

Sunday is slightly different with a cooked brunch about 09:30, cake or pudding around 14:00 and main meal at usual time.

No set times for breakfast and lunch. Evening meal is at 7pm. I'm a grazer so am continually popping to the kitchen for snacks from about 9am until 5pm.

Until recently I was doing one meal a day. It worked really well for me. I found I could still have takeaway/beers on a weekend and still lose weight. My only snacks were watermelon and some other odd bits of fruit if I ever got peckish. My meal was between 6pm and 7:30pm, usually planned around our daughter’s activities.

However, since Christmas I’ve really ramped up the exercise and realised I actually need to eat more. Again, not cutting anything out. Just making sensible choices. I struggle to eat on a morning so skip breakfast. Either eggs, mushrooms or tomatoes on sourdough for lunch around 1pm. Whatever the family is having on an evening at a similar time as before. Just a slightly smaller portion than I was having previously. Snack wise, watermelon, tangerines/clemetines, crab sticks and picked onions as they take my fancy. I am a nightmare with crisps so avoid them the majority of the time as I could easily finish a family sized bag whilst watching tv. Although I did enjoy a pack of Crunchy Flamin Hot Wotsits last night that were still in the cupboard from Christmas while watching a film. Sooo good.

Don’t normally eat anything after 8pm. So regularly ‘fast’ for 17 hours.

My Facebook feed is full of meal companies right now. Check out "Stocked"...(stockedfood.com) looks a good idea although not sure on price etc.

Big gap there between breakfast and lunch, I'd be starving by mid morning and then over eating at lunch.

I usually have breakfast around 9 once kids have been dropped at school and grand parents and I've logged on, wfh helps because I can just go to the kitchen and make it, different story if I had to go in.

Lunch is 12, unless it's a run day, then it's 1pm. Tea around 5.30, and then I put my retainers in so can't snack in front of the tv as I've already brushed my teeth. 🤣
