Just watched the first half of the Glucose Goddess show on Channel 4. I think I'll buy the book as it is way too irritating. I am not having it that the woman with acne had NEVER been told there could be a link to her diet. Nor to the diabetic guy that he'd NEVER been told that glucose spikes and what he eats makes his diabetes worse.

They're either lying or not listening. Annoying, as I'm sure the programme has some good information.
Haven't been able to watch it yet as was on a staff residential but I can say with 99% certainty that the diabetic will NOT have been told that. This is from the information that our granddaughter and her parents have been given plus the information given out to Type 2's.

Well that's plain crazy. I'm not diabetic and I know it. The NHS/Diabetic Team need to shape up.

Really the only advice given was to reduce the size of fruit portion she could eat. Plus weigh out food to work out the carbs. As a type 1 they have been told not to do a low carb diet due to ketones. It's all very confusing to me.

Week 2 comes to a close

2.8kg loss with 7.9kg overall

Shakes are not for me not a fan

Think I won't be on these jabs long term, want to come off by end of march. Whilst it's great not hearing "hunger noise" as it's been called. It's a bit depressing thinking can't eat that will make me feel crap. (IE can't even go out for a meal with friends and have a salad without it having to be the plainest)

Let's see what next week brings. Supposed to be going bath for dinner with my mate. She suggested beef eater , after seeing red meat is basically what made me feel so bad and their chicken selection is so poor I'm trying to find other places for us to go lol chicken shish would be nice 👍

Sounds similar to a few work colleagues about 15 years ago who were given some weight loss pills by the med centre. They had to drastically change what they ate as any fat eaten was ejected by the body via various means - sweating, 💩, anywhere. They swore even looking at fat caused fatty sweat! They all came off the tablets as they couldn’t face the very limited food they could eat.

I had those around 15 years ago too, absolutely horrendous time, only stayed on them about a week.

2lb off this week, good start. 24lbs to go.

First proper week for me. 4lb down 14 to go (first week giving a nice big loss is no surprise for me though)

I never do my Friday weigh in without an hours exercise first, so it was some jogging this morning to build up a sweat
Big challenge this weekend to not undo this weeks efforts by being too lax on off days

Sounds about right lol

I've prepared some mix for shish and got some chicken out freezer ready to have chicken and something tonight (got some salad to use)

Looking at the list of food shish seems to fit (chicken anyways) of stuff I can easily have without annoying my body

Your reaction seems a bit stronger than my wife's. We've still been having the odd takeaway, she just doesn't finish them as much. She said she felt a bit ill eating the risotto we made earlier this week, but she put a bit too much cream in it and even I found it a bit much, haha. She hardly used to eat breakfast or lunch anyway though so not much change there. If I'm at home I've been grabbing her a pack of plain sliced chicken for her lunch, if I'm not at home she doesn't remember to eat anything (we think she's possibly ADHD which explains that..).

It's the sheets of food to avoid I can't get my head around. Carrot apparently (raw) but then another sheet said carrot and hummus makes a good snack .. which is it?

Seems to depend all what reaction your having IE if you got upset tummy or sickness etc

I've made some shish mix tonight that's just 1/2 onion , tomotoe puree. Olive oil. Vineger . Garlic. Bit of salt plus the spices from my pots. All stuff that fits the list of food so hopefully I find something I really enjoy eating as I've always loved that. Need to make sure eat some salad with it rather than just smash the meat

It's certainly taking over a lot of my thoughts ATM. Debating how long to stay on etc. whilst it's good for my physical health not sure about my mental health as I haven't felt this on edge for a while. Monday I'm gonna have a good sort out of some bits at home. Make sure I know what I'm doing as I played golf today and hadn't since December it felt like I didn't know where I'd put anything in my bag etc lol 🤣 good connection tho (I'm not too worried about the above as the fact I'm personally noticing that I need to reflect means I'm in control)

Maybe it's the "putting clothes on your carbs" scenario? The combo works due to the fat content in the hummus?

Sounds like its taking its toll a bit on you physically and mentally. Without doubt being on a diet means spending most of your time thinking about food. When/what can I eat? Not great. Maybe set yourself a month or 6 weeks. Accept the lack of appetite. Accept you don't want to eat much and not stress if the calories are lower than is ideal. Knock a heap of weight off, get some enthusiasm and encouragement from that, then come off the injections and do it naturally?

Cream in Risotto???
That's more of a food crime than pineapple on pizza...
In all seriousness, the risotto should become creamy by stiring the rice as the stock is gradually added - the starch gets released into the liquid. When the rice is cooked, beat in a little butter and parmesan (mantacatura) before resting for 5 mins and Roberto's your fratello di mi padre...
Definitely no cream required.

What jab are you on? Haven't read anything before about a list of food to avoid with Monjaro.

Too much football in January to do Dry January. Instead we’re doing no takeaways/eating out January (not my idea). What type of miserable existence is this… Takeaway on a Friday should be mandatory. I’ve got a nice homemade curry on the go to compensate but it doesn’t feel like a ‘treat’.

I set my alarm 45 mins earlier this morning and did my cross trainer session first thing. I did my weight session at lunch time and then walked the dog as usual after work. I think I’ll make this my routine going forward. Feels like I’ve got a lot more free time than trying to squeeze everything in on a night.

Yeah I think this is going to be my new plan. I think if I go one set of nights with this in me so I'm not snacking then I'm going to hopefully break the cycle

Yes food noise is a problem with me. A lot of it is me , some of it is the meds I'm on that increase the food appetite but a lot is me.

I have never liked fish, can't stand it. So that makes this harder. But on the flip side I can't eat cream (just cream) so rules out so many deserts I don't eat them

The main thing for me is crisps. Which is what I put a lot of my reactions down to. Yes the jab is a main one but the salt levels I must have dropped from the amount I eat in crisps compared to none now .. it's prob In shock lol

@chellie there is a massive list of avoidance with mounjaro , does seem like a keep a good diary and hope for the best is the main advise but avoid all kinds.

Sure some of this are a bit well duh but others are because of how it reacts with them.

For example last Sunday I had a steak salad. Beautiful, not big. The red meat killed me

Quick add.. spicy food to avoid.. my Currys (home done) work out (including rice) about 600 Cals a hit. Week one they were a lovely dinner. Now I'm all paranoid because the Dr said avoid spicy food but was fine week 1 lol 😂
