To be honest I wouldn't have ever weighed myself but I think it's more for the coaches content really and just something else to add to the app I'm using.

I always think the scales tend to be a lose, lose situation when trying to lose weight. We tend to weigh ourselves when we expect/hope for a loss. So if we get that it's basically a confirmation but doesn't feel a huge win. If however we get the reverse then it can be really de-motivating. There are always exceptions. I stopped weighing myself a few years back and felt my weight was pretty steady. For some reason I stepped on the scales a couple of weeks back, with a number in mind, turns out I'm a few pounds less. That felt like a win!

Another month of weight sessions, trying to drink less and eat more healthy and I've put a bit of weight on!! A tiny amount. So demoralising! BUT I feel loads better and can see/feel the difference so I'm ok with that.

My weight sessions are longer and heavier now so really seeing progress there. I'm just going to ignore the scales and concentrate, again, on how my body is changing.

Got a month left on this free plan and going to try use it gain as much knowledge as possible to carry on myself going forward.
You’re doing great, but trying to lose weight while working out at the gym is pointless imo.

You’re building muscle which takes up less area than the fat, obviously the a pound of muscle weighs exactly the same as a pound of fat, but the pound of fat takes up more room, so you’d be better off measuring yourself around the hips/waist/thigh/biceps etc as you will probably find you are becoming slimmer while getting fitter.

Keep it going.👏👏👏

3 sets of 5 @ 100kg deadlifts tonight, definitely had more weight in me but always conscious of hurting myself doing deadlifts, dropped to 90kg for last 2 sets and they felt relatively easy after the 100kg.
Fantastic. Some achievement that.

I tried to do them in my plan but it felt really uncomfortable on my lower back so changed to the trap bar?? That seemed to feel loads better.

Yep I do trap bar at my gym, only straight bar DL once got to about 90kg. But think I’ll see if I can try the straight bar again every now and again.

I've not used the trap bar before, but have bought some straps as my grip needs work.
Form has to be excellent for deadlifts, if you're not feeling it, probably best to leave it as it is an accident waiting to happen.

Done the 150km rucking (12kg) in bite sized 5km walks. I was aiming to reach that distance tally before caddy duties but done with two weeks to spare means a few more km's can be done
Really need to do some up/down steps with ruck on, so that's next

Nothing wrong with using grips, loads of none professionals and professionals use them.
I use them as my grip isn't brilliant, also I've got soft hands :p

Deadlift was how I did my back in when I first joined the gym. Wasn't allowed to DL for 5 months then form was the key before increasing weight.

Although I exercise in some form pretty regularly its rare for me to string a run of continuous days together for steps. Too easy to not go out in rain or go to office early etc and miss a step goal. All means that my longest run of days was two years ago when I managed 44 days when I did a ‘5km a day in May’ challenge

Today I hit 50th straight day bagging my daily target of steps, much of which has been rucking. Overall, I’m not as fit as I was 2 years back but I do feel better prepared to caddy next week

My wife has just bought some kind of weight-loss injections. I was struggling to get my head around this concept. She said more than one of her friends are on them! She moaned at me for not being 'supportive' but it just seems way over-the-top to me. She is overweight but I wouldn't say she's obese or anything. Maybe I'm old-fashioned but what's wrong with going for a run instead of stabbing yourself with a needle?? 😳

Anyone here done anything like that? Sorry I don't know what the injections are specifically, I switched off at that point. She said something about it originally being intended for diabetes but they spotted the weight-loss properties as a kind of side effect so now people buy them for that instead. Wouldn't be my cup of tea - I don't like needles!

I’m still on them albeit almost the lowest dose now. They’ve worked for me, I’ve lost over 3 stone since I started using them back in April/May, hard work but well worth it as I was sleep walking into an early grave. Hopefully they work for your missis too but it needs a total change of eating habits, you can’t just jab yourself and expect to lose weight, they don’t work like that. Oh and the needle, wait until they arrive, you’ll laugh at how small it is 🤣

Hopefully not off a dodgy Facebook site (other dodgy sites are available). Plenty of stories telling of severe reactions, even death when people are taking unlicensed, unregulated drugs bought from sites their friends recommend.

Yeah, wife said her friend has lost 2 stone as well. It just seems crazy and drastic to me, but again, maybe I'm old-fashioned and this is becoming more commonplace now, I don't know.

The way she described it was that being on the injections almost changes your habits for you as she will not feel as hungry and overeating will make her feel sick so she will naturally eat less. I'm sure I will get fatter as I eat all the food she doesn't finish.

Sorry to be an old maid, has she definitely bought them from a legitimate source? If not, bin them off, don't let her take the risk. If she has, different matter. Your wife is right about the origins. My sister went on one of these as she had just tipped into type 2 diabetes, it ended up being pancreas related but that's another matter. Anyway, it was one of the weight loss drugs, although for her it was for diabetes. One of those money making accidents.

Sort of correct, they slow down your digestion so you get full really quickly, if I were to have a sandwich at lunchtime I’d be full for the rest of the day and not want to eat anything for tea. I’m not sure if it’s the injections changing your mindset or just will power alone, for me being a tight git I didn’t want to shell out £200+ a month and and not really go for it.
