There is also a Top Golf range at Watford - very good fun
Unfortunately very expensive fun these days, as they no longer offer bulk purchase of games or practice only deals.

The best of our two local ranges, with a 9 hole course, closed today when, I understand, the receivers were called in at 10am. It's a great shame for the area and more so the people who work there who, I believe, are now redundant.
I just hope that a way will be found to re open it with new owners, that the golf course members havnt lost too much money and the employees will be re hired or find alternative work. In the meanwhile there will be less practicing for us all.
Where's that?
Chris, didn't you say you wanted something to do after retiring.... This seems right up your street
Ashford Kent
If they couldn't make it pay Baz I don't think I could! And there would be the small matter of buying it from the receiver. I reckon it will sell to the likes of Pentland Golf who own quite a few courses in Kent.
Hopefully if they buy it they'll keep it in better nick than their range at Etchinghill.
Don't know if pentland has any spare cash, Austin lodge must be a big millstone round their neck.
The fact is that golf is having a very tough time. Green fees are down, practising on ranges is down, People don't have spare cash like they used to.
Golf is just been chucked through the discounters and devaluing a very good product.
It shows how tough it is when you can get a game at Celtic Manor on the twenty ten course stop over and play the montgomerie the next day for peanuts. Everyone is fighting for a very small amount of business.
I am another member of Homelands who just found out today, website and facebook not showing anything yet. Sadly it seems to have happened on the quiet. Lorries today taking away buggies and equipment. Does that get arranged in 24 hours??? Fees have only gone up by about £10 a year recently so maybe they should have gone up a little more. Really hope Pentland take it on but a staff member told me today that they think the land is going back to the land owner. Surely a good deal to be had here with a fully built 9 hole course. Normally this course whilst short is very good.
The other two local courses are either not very good or extremely expensive and not very friendly so a very sad day as I used to play Homelands 2-3 times a week every week, until just recently.
Maybe the members should all badger Pentland!!
