My current understanding of the kerfuffle is that while initially the Saudi's wanted to abruptly pull the plug and hadn't paid workers for a while (which is legal in Saudi land) - they were likely talked into finishing this season to give O'Neill and his ilk time to find alternative financing. However, LIV never made financial sense as that was not the goal. So new financiers are not likely to save LIV, at least not as it currently is with $30 million payouts per event etc.

Rahm has sorted nothing with the DP world tour.
Theyre at a stalemate.
Hes been offered an olive branch but doesn't want to play the extra games that they want to specify to him.
DP world tour made an offer, and rahm refused

Withdrew appeal.
Just meant he wasn't appealing against the fines.
Hes happy to pay the fines.
Return and play his required quota, but DP tour are asking for 2 more tournaments than normally required, and I believe they want to dictate a couple of them to the players.

Hopefully something gets sorted, because regardless of any of our views on any or all of the tours, Europe needs Rahm in the Ryder cup.
We'll be much poorer without him

Rahm joined LIV because at the time it looked like the PGA was going to do a deal with LIV and he was both pissed off that he had refused LIV before and now the PGA was rolling over, and he saw an opportunity to get the money and then still play PGA events. That didn't work out. If I were on his team I'd urge him to do the DP World deal ASAP to have that as a fall back.

Can’t even blame the bunker for the preceding shot because don’t tell me the ones in Augusta aren’t pristine and he was shocking in them too. Maybe he’s setting up for his next YouTube series and will get an on-camera lesson: “how to improve your terrible bunker play”

The key here I suppose is if
PIF is going to pull ALL FUNDING at end of 2026.
If that is the case then its very hard to see how it continues in any meaningful way.
PIF is going to reduce/scale back its funding.
This would mean having to go and find the shortfall which is not insurmountable. (Depending on the shortfall)
I would guess you would go looking for that in the countries where you have found genuine success.
However I dont think they will be playing for 30m prize funds every event.
Pro Liv'ers can try and dress it up in a positive way but the reality is the tour is skating on very thin ice right now.

Last line especially true there - worth noting that the PGAT is also in the process of restructuring as they can't afford to operate and meet the demands of their investors with their current business model.
If we're assuming the war in Iran has affected Saudi, it may well have affected many other people who invest in sport - let's not forget the middle east has a headline sponsor for the DPWT and is a key area for a few events on the tour.
If LIV folds completely, I'm sure some people will see it as a victory, but what is left when the dust settles might end up being more than disappointing.
