LIV Golf

Lots of rumours of force majeure….

I’d suggest a compromise; LIV can run their tour using their revenue from ticket sales, merch, sponsorships and tv deals.

I’ve just contacted Mr Mulligans pirate adventure mini golf which is in that sort of budget, they said they’ll even let them go round twice.

Ouch. That ain’t twitter rumour.

The FT is one of only two international financial papers of record - if they’re going to press suggesting it’s nearly over, then the fat lady is doing vocal warm ups.

For all that it was 100% predictable and indeed inevitable, it’s still very sad that people seem about to lose livelihoods here (and I’m not talking about the multi-millionaire club twirlers).

If it really is going, what avenues are open to what players? For example, Koepka seems to have been allowed back into the PGA whereas Reed wasn't and ended up going to the DPWT instead. The tours can't accommodate everyone presumably so who will go where?

Without going into the depths of Google I’d imagine Rahm and Bryson could be offered a Koepka type deal due to being more recent major winners as technically without the ban they’d still be exempt based on those wins. Cam Smith I think would come under a similar category as without his ban he’d still be within his 5 year exemption window, so he may get an offer.

Mickelson is technically a life member of PGA tour with his exemptions but he burned so many bridges that would be a hard sell and hard to come back from. I’d imagine those with DPWT tour exemption would get invited to join that tour, don’t know where that leave everyone else though and that’s all speculation anyway. I’d like to see where Anthony Kim ends up as I’ve really enjoyed following him this year and it’s one of the few great stories to come from it all.

Rahm and BDC will have some doors open to them and also prob Hatton into the PGAT

Some will need to rely on World Ranking to gain entry into some comps

I hope the DP allows the members to rejoin etc

There are some that will prob end up just playing on the Asian Tour and some to the KFT

Since the early tittle tattle it has been appearing on multiple sites & publications throughout the day, so does feel like is entering the 'no smoke without fire' space.
Although as far as I have seen they all seem to be citing rumours, or other publications (which are citing rumours).

As has been the case many times on this thread with all types of rumours, shall wait for some proper announcement / news before considering and seriously commenting.

The BBC seems to be holding steady, maybe hasn't passed BBC verify yet.

Enough of the serious stuff, changing tack - as Mel S hasn't disclosed how it's affecting him, I don't know what to believe 😉😄

It wouldn't be great news for AK I don't think. I'm not sure what level he'd have to go to. At least he managed to win an event before it went kaput.

Mel is tickety boo. Don’t worry about me Bubba 😂

Just listened to a podcast featuring Scott O’Neill which was released yesterday as it happens.
Some interesting content in there.

He would prob get a spot on the DP tour and then have to qualify for the PGAT
I wonder how the guys who are struggling or not big names on all the tours are feeling now?
Will it mean less invites for them?
There is only a certain amount of players can play in any given event, will the tours be looking to recruit?

Don’t follow golf casts but this one interests me. What’s it published under on Apple Podcasts

There's absolutely nothing to do with any of the rumour and conjecture from today tbh mate. I'd imagine it was recorded a week or so back. Scott basically outlines the things that LIV are doing differently, and perhaps, even if we see the demise of LIV, highlights some of the changes and ideas that golf really needs to embrace going forwards..

Worth noting, he posted a link to it today on his Linekdin account right when multiple piles of shite were hitting the fan.

A few of them can play on the champions tour now

Some of the bigger names will play but yep those at the bottom will miss out
