LIV Golf

The issue with comparing with things like F1 and even the IpL and other franchise sports is those sports don’t have a competitor within that market - so when there is a F1 race etc all the eyes are on y them - hence getting 80mil average viewers per event so they will be raking it in - LIV is going up against other tours in a packed market and it’s struggling to get eyes on it - it’s going to be very tough to break that monopoly almost impossible

F1 is huge, but I’d say it’s one part of the motorsport market, though its rivals aren’t trying to compete directly, they are very different. It’s almost impossible to try and compare one sport to another, F1 does have a feeder tour into it, but again money talks so steps can be skipped. Slight tangent, but it just seems crazy to me how young these upcoming F1 drivers are now.

I do like that fox stick up an hour from each days play onto yt although they prob cram too many shots into that hour, I quite like to see at least a few seconds 'build up' to a players shot to set the scene as it were

Have to admit I watched the first four shots and closed YT. May give it ago later

I don’t mind the first dozen or so shots being rapidly shown. I know it’s a shotgun so I know what I’m seeing is they’re all hitting tee shots on their 1st holes. But as the round goes on its harder to track who’s where and doing what etc without commentator intro or time to read the info-heavy screen

As good a final leaderboard as you can get:
All of these players were in the Top 7 and ties
Niemann
Bryson
Rahm
Hatton
Cam Smith
DJ

The greens looked pretty tough also, with lots of misreads on the heavily contoured greens

The Post Round Show is probably better for a breakdown of the days events - less action obviously but you get the commentary team reviewing the round, often with the players involved.

It was a decent watch, from the drones you could also see the wind affecting the trees in different directions and swirling about. Terrific scoring from Herbert in that.

I only recently realised that Johnson is no longer exempt from the PGA Championship. Needs to follow up with some more decent form.

Niemann regularly seems focused and not impeded by pressure when he has a chance. Bit of a mystery (as others have commented) that he's not done better in majors to date. Needs to show something in next 3 I feel.

The commentators were referencing no 'protection' in drop zone this year. So could be Westy & Poults farewell tour.... (we'll see)
