LIV Golf

LIV would improve if...
1) They stopped the annoying music
2) The commentators didn't try so hard to blow smoke up the products backside. Championship Friday, Championship Saturday, Championship Sunday etc
3) They had some decent players to watch

Even the shotgun start spoils things as it is hard to keep track of where players are on the course, if they have hard/easy holes to play etc. At least a standard format you know that 18 is a birdie hole or 17 is a potential disaster or whatever. With some tweaks it could be a half decent watch and would probably grow in popularity.
You’ve obviously never watched much of it.
There’s often a graphic on the screen indicating the hole difficulty, using traffic light colours.
I probably watched about 70% of all the shots aired from LIV over the weekend, and got a round of golf in and all my usual weekend chores. I had absolutely no inclination to watch Brian Harman, and never watched a ball being struck.
LIV is by a country mile, more suited to the viewer than conventional tour golf.
In my opinion.

Is there a boxing thread anywhere, I’ve absolutely no interest in the sport but feel I need to repeatedly announce to the good members of the forum that I have absolutely no interest in seeing grown men act like puerile children at a weigh in then have a scrap a few days later…..

I find it strange that all the LIV bots come across as anti PGA/DPWT but surely that is what got them into the game in the first place.

I've never seen anyone wearing Ryder Cup gear, is that a waste of space?

This is a daft argument, which tour has people wearing the most gear off course? Really?
That does surprise me. I’ve seen loads.

Liv is based on teams and franchises. Every other team based sports in the world has people wearing team kit and merch.

That is a completely different sport. We are all interested in golf.

Maybe if you didn’t make such outlandish and unfounded claims there might not be as much interest. Just a thought.

LIV is a better product.

Do you still watch golf on a cathode ray box, or do you have a nice flat screen?
Liv is not a better product. It’s a different product.

I’ve seen clips and there is far too much going on on the screen. It detracts from the golf. It looks like they gone down the more is better, just keep adding more cos it’s exciting route. It’s really not. In my opinion of course.

Some of it is just comedy too. The last clip I saw was a putt from Bryson where they had overplayed the start line and break. Both of which were miles out and it looked like it was drawn on in crayon.

Most tour golf is boring

It’s why most of us don’t really talk about any golf events outside the majors or the Ryder cup

Some will watch the odd event if it’s on but for most of us the appeal of golf is in actually playing the sport

99% of us dedicate our golf to playing it as opposed to watching it

Is that because you live in a hot country with high humidity? Just why did you buy a padded jacket? Ebay purchase after a good night? 🤪

that could have something to do with it :p
They were on sale at county golf, much cheapness & I figured I'll need something to wear when I pop over for a visit in what passes for 'summer' over there ;) & if I get a game in Scotland I might get away with just the three layers
