LIV Golf

Hence why ignoring the talk about BDC as understand his contract runs out next year

But the Koepka talk hasn’t ever gone away

Brooks is mates with a lot of these guys, and has investment in TMRW. There is absolutely nothing to read into him going to a golf event he’s got a financial interest in, a few miles from where he lives.

He contract runs out at the end of the season

Been plenty of talk about them no longer giving the big contracts

It’s very likely that someone like Koepka would move back to PGAT to allow him to tailor his schedule to suit himself

This is because he suddenly turned up at TGL

I didn't pay much attention to the 'joining liv' posts until actually confirmed. Will be same on the 'leaving' posts.
Speculating is course fun.
Could speculate this a negotiating tactic...

There’s a deal in the pipeline that could totally reshape the men’s pro game.

Nobody will be deciding where there future lies until all the changes have been ratified.

It’s quite funny watching a LOT of people hanging on the speculation that a few players are heading back to the PGAT though..
I’m sure some will play PGAT events in the next few years, god knows the tour needs some characters making a few appearances, but I suspect none of them are looking to walk away from LIV to go back to playing on a diminishing tour.

When it comes to joining Liv etc most of them came out to be true

The same people have been talking about the end of the big contracts with players looking at equity in the teams etc

When the contracts do run out and big renewals aren’t there - you can see some looking to play on other tours instead

I’m not expecting this “deal” to sort out too many cross tour moves tbh unfortunately

The PGAT is certainly diminished, but still way ahead of LIV. The PGAT may be 90% of what it was when they all played it, but for those good enough on the 10% LIV tour, its still a big improvement to move up to the 90% tour even if its diminished from its former 100%.

LIVin on a prayer is the early leader in 2025 following up a strong season in 2024.

Hong Kong is a comparatively short course and last year favoured the guys who can control the ball better - it's an opportunity for some of the older players as well as driver distance is nullified a little.

I really haven't got a clue who to pick for this one... 😂

Didnt realise, and surprised to hear it, that a full shutdown of LIV is on the table in the reunification talks.
I would have thought some global tour with 12 or 14 tournaments, yes borderline exhibition, borderline seniors tour, but have some of the local PGAT stars for the fans, and some of the legends type players to ensure the bulk of the field were recognised names, has a role in pro golf. Even the likes of Spieth and Fowler, not making signature events could then be included. This would still bring relevant stars to other corners of the world and attract interest and crowds. Low value as wins, career acievement, and ranking points would still be minimal, but in a grow the game, spread the word, and raise the profile of golf, it could still have a positive effect.

If Brooks goes the PIF will probably just use the money they were going to spend on him to help finance taking another big name.

Every player bar a few has their price and the PIF will seemingly always pay any price.

Or

A deal gets done and this will be a mute point as Brooks would be able to play some PGA Tour events anyway

Losing a top ranker hits LIV so much harder than the PGAT, given that they have just about a handful of them. And the first major departure would innitself be a deterrent to any replacement for him joining even if there was big money on offer. It could be a sign either of LIV winding down, or, becoming more of a rival tonthe DPWT and Kornferry, recruiting young up and comers who are more easily swayed by smaller $$$. It shows a depressing amount of ambition from them though a la McKibbin.

Brooks wanting to play some events on the PGAT does not equate to him wanting to leave LIV guys. Come on, let’s have some perspective here - it’s come from Couples as well - he’s not exactly rational when it comes to LIV

I’m not sure what big name is left that they can buy

There has been a lot of noise about the big money contracts coming to an end since GN left

It’s not sustainable by any stretch

If every player has their price... And PIF will seemingly always pay any price, then surely they would have several more top players regardless of Brooks position.. 🤔..

You do you know that Brooks owns 25% of his LIV team.

Am sure he wants to play a few particular Tournaments on the PGA, but not sure about a high percentage.

If he did go back, where does he start ? at present he does not qualify for the elevated events, would he be
interested in playing the other low events ?

All conjecture, best to wait and see if a deal is done.

Not sure owning 25% of a team is worth much when there is very little of worth within the teams

As a multiple major winner and a winner of the 2023 US PGA he would have plenty of exemptions

Signature Events are not invites.....unless PGA change their rules which would piss a lot of their Members off,
but hey Jay has a history of that lately.
