What choice does Rory, or any of them, have..?
The merger is going to happen, the Saudi money is coming in whether he likes it or not.
He's been thrown under the bus and he's got 2 choices..go with the flow and accept it or walk away and retire at 34......
He still wants to win Majors so he's going to suck it up and go with it.
Grudgingly.

I largely agree but I think there's always a choice....., for example, you could miss 1 elevated event but no more; yet he made a choice to miss a second. He could take an unexpected route (eg, play out the remainder of the year on the DPWT (we'll see then how he moves the needle), play the Majors and Ryder Cup; Or he could take Matt Wolff's place and play with Brooks, take his suspension, and play the Majors).

I agree he's been thrown under the bus, but on the basis of his presser, he's happy for the bus to drive off, reverse over him again and for it to keep it happening. At least he has a choice.... I suspect with the very unclear future, the Graysons of the world will have no choice.

Do you think Rory would have been better saying.

"I was very surprised at the news.
Im keeping an open mind on it until I know all the facts and how its going to look/work
Hopefully it will bring the world of golf back together which will be good for everyone but until I know how that is going to be achieved I cant really comment anymore"

And Rory said he was never made an offer to join LIV!

I think it matters.

Golf fans are just being pissed all over so that the the mega rich can get a bit richer, or smarten up their reputation.
Professional golf has become an insidious organisation working in directions it shouldn't be and I for one will watch even less of it than I currently do, which is already very little. :)

This is an interesting view and one I’m quite curious on. It’s not stiring the pot when we say that there have been some very strong anti liv debates on this thread where members have taken the moral high ground , stood by the pga etc etc, rattled on about the history of the game , the Saudi human rights track record and generally thrown as much mud as poss at peoples who’s opinions differed from their own.

Forget Rory and Tiger, the fans who support the sport and it’s sponsors also have a voice and I for one sm curious on this.

Any anti liv supporters care to share how “ they “ feel about the announcement?

Until the real details of what the merger actually means to the Pros, the fans and the Tours I don't think anyone can really know one way or the other.
At the moment it's just a shock.

Maybe it’s about time you stopped making more work for the mods

Maybe it's about time to get rid of that Report button..
If there's a genuine grievance posters could DM a mod, and I'm sure it would get rid of a lot of nuisance reporting - which I'm sure I've been guilty of in the past as well.

This should nip some of the speculation in the bud. Based off of this, LIV Golf will no longer exist after this season IMO. Sorry LIV/PIF/Saudi apologists.

Look I don’t want to debate it.
I want you to take responsibility for the content of your own posts and if you are posting to deliberately wind up others, then stop.

There's at least 3 or 4 other posters doing exactly that on this thread...
But seen as you don't want to debate it, we'll leave it at that...

I’m gutted and won’t be watching much pga tour golf if any

Sport as a whole is in an absolute mess at the moment left right and centre. People at the top can’t grab the Saudi money quick enough.

You do have to admire Rory and how hard he is sticking to his role as the PGA tour lapdog.

I expected him to be outraged about being hung out to dry but no, whatever the PGA tour want to do is good by him.

He described himself as feeling like the "sacrificial lamb"
