Update from a contact at Costco HQ....

"Apparently the US are facing large production issues with them and its looking like we will be the last area to get them, possibly even 2018 (!!)

Its possible the online store may get some ... worth keeping an eye on."

He's going to let me know if the situation changes but presently it looks like they are a little scarce. I assume by production issues he meant supply and demand type issues due to their popularity.

haha I hope you're right.

I just noticed that you can buy them on Ebay (US import), no wonder they are running out over there as people are making a quick buck flogging them worldwide.

The thing is, if and when they do show up over here they will immediately sell out overnight because of the drama and attention they are receiving, people will buy in bulk and they will appear all over the evil bay, the proof of the puddin' will be the extent of the repeat order/s, which will based on if they are as good as being reported.

Link works for me too. Essentially the artical on MyGolfSpy says

A representative of Nassau Golf (originally listed as the manufacturer of the Kirkland Signature Ball on the USGA conforming list) has told MyGolfSpy that Costco purchased overruns of Nassau's European-market-exclusive Quattro ball. There is some indication the sale was made through a third party, and that Nassau may not have been directly involved in the deal. The same source confirms that while the Costco balls have a different core color, the material composition and layer thickness are absolutely identical to the Quattro.

With the initial supply of overruns exhausted, Costco effectively has nothing left to sell.

With Costco selling its version of the Quattro at its cost ($15/dozen), it appears that Nassau is not particularly interested in selling Costco any additional inventory. As you can imagine, there's little interest in allowing Costco to undercut the Quattro with the Quattro, nor is there any desire to see the ball market (including direct-to-consumer brands like Snell, and OEMs such as TaylorMade) undercut either.

If this is true, it will be a disappointment with so much furore about the ball in the first instance.

Sounds to me they have basically gone to the manufacturer, said give me that ball at the wholesale price you say you can do and used an existing golf ball with a different stamp on it, i.e. it is like finding the Nike factory and getting the workers to keep producing items for you when done at the same cost, you stick a different label on them and sell them cheap

Would doubt they are the same, from what i gather they were just surplus of a different ball just rebranded. Id assume they new ones will be the same but not the same ball.
