. the balls must be like hitting bricks as can’t imagine CK has a massive golfing equipment R&D department next to where they figure out which shade of white their pants need to come in

I know the Amazon ball is supposedly made in the same place the Kirkland ball is and that same factory also makes the PXG balls so maybe there’s something in that!

The alignment mark looks familiar, just like Taylormade Distance. I expect the factory in china makes the same balls and stamps them with different logos for different customers/markets.
This has been going on for a long time. CK obviously doesn’t have its own golf ball R&D and manufacturing facilities, nor does Amazon. Sainsbury’s doesn’t have its own brewery in Prague making Czech lager.

Found a new Wilson Duo Soft yesterday.
So played with it for a few holes .
I was very impressed
Good off the tee
Irons were good
Sat very well with short game , but greens are soft atm.
Nice sound off the putter suited me.
I think it’s a great winter ball.

I used one in my foursomes match the other week because it was my partner's ball. I was expecting some drop-off from my Triads, but it was pretty good. Wilson are making great balls across the board at the moment.

My Mrs likes them and has been using them last couple of rounds I had a whack with it, lost some distance off the tee but overall felt pretty decent especially on the approach shot but I’m not allowed to play with her pink balls so had to give it back

I assume the distance loss off the tee was considerable 10+ yards as surely you would not be able to discern a low single figure yardage loss from one tee shot to another given total distance variability in ground conditions with every drive?My Mrs likes them and has been using them last couple of rounds I had a whack with it, lost some distance off the tee but overall felt pretty decent especially on the approach shot but I’m not allowed to play with her pink balls so had to give it back

Yeah it was about 15yards short of where my drive was with my Normal PXG ball. But it felt decent and off the irons felt good. Can’t say I gave it more of a test than that as after having my fitting I’m happy with what I play. But can say it’s definitely a decent ball and good value for a lot of players.

I can’t imagine that there are many players who will be happy to give up 15 yards on their drives at almost any price.

Agreed a couple of yards maybe worth considering as a winter ball but 15yards would make a huge difference in club selection and shot choice. But like I say it felt decent enough hitting it and can see why it’s a good choice for a lot of people who may not generate enough speed to compress a harder ball.

I am reading a lot about various balls for slow swing and high handicappers as well a Range balls being not too good for judging distances , so I was wondering , is it the done thing ( or taking the wotsit) to buy cheap balls off eBay and add them to the bucket of balls I get down the Range to see if a particular ball suits me ?

Not the done thing! Our range has top tracer and the system is calibrated to the TM balls we use. Adding in your own balls will not give proper results and also not be good for those who come after you and get the balls from the machine

I’m seeing a lot of people talking about Legato balls lately on instagram and YouTube. Apparently it’s a decent 3 piece ball available on Amazon for Seed sort of prices.

I went for a late night walk last week, I was a bit bored and found a load of balls. Three which I had never found before which stuck out. A CK ball, the Bridgestone ball and the Wilson ball which has been mentioned.
They stuck out because I had not seen those markings before.
One ball which markings I did recognise was a callaway supersoft with a faded Tash on it.
