Help picking a ball for slow swing speed

We have a lot of juniors (which is good) and there is a box where you could put balls that were still usable for them to play with for nothing. It use to have an array of brands they would happily play with. Now unless its a Pro V, top of the range Cally or TM they won't touch them
Just a sign of the times sadly. Kids are entitled and parents put up with it

Why is this entitled?

If the parent (or even the kid themselves if they have a part time job) can afford to buy premium balls, and so the kid prefers to use these, and not use someone else's rejects, good for them. I'd say it's almost more entitled to expect others to have to use something lesser, or expect parents not to want their children to have the best if that's within their means, just because you or they had less in the past.

I disagree in as much as we are donating the balls, and in the ones I give they are usually in still pretty good condition albeit some may be the next make down from the very top ones. In the old days when I was a junior we were so gratefult to get something much better than the Pinnacles and Top Flites we began with. A lot of or juniors are still young and learning the game and so I 'd have thought any ball would take the pressure off arents needing to buy balls. If they can afford premium balls then fair play. We are simply trying to help and to see and here some snub the balls in the box simply because they aren't premium does seem a bit rude

I don't know the full context here, so if the juniors are saying what you have given is rubbish and expecting you to donate premium balls instead, I'd agree that's entitled. If they are just not choosing to use them, because they have better options, that's not entitlement, which is thinking you have a right to something.
Likewise, if someone is happy to donate balls with no strings attached, that's fine, if the donator expects the juniors to be grateful for any old donation that makes the donator entitled.

No matter which ball you choose, it must have a urethane cover. For the long game, you don’t necessarily need a high-compression ball. In fact, contrary to popular belief, using one won’t hurt your performance—even if you’re not a high-speed golfer. So, if cost isn’t a concern, a premium tour ball like the Pro V1 or any other tour-level option is a great choice.

But when it comes to short game performance (especially spin and control around the greens) a urethane cover is absolutely essential. That doesn’t change whether you’re the world number one or a weekend player.

What about if you're a ten-year-old? 😂

The short answer is yes—even a ten-year-old! 😄

If they’re a complete beginner, it’s not as crucial, since they’ll mostly be focused on just making contact with the ball. Or if you're looking for a more budget-friendly option.

But a urethane cover makes a real difference in spin around the greens.

Do you really think a 10-year-old is going to be nipping the ball and spinning it with his short game?? I think you're being a bit silly.

I get where you’re coming from, but the ball doesn’t care who’s swinging the club. Even a 10-year-old can produce the same types of shots around the green as the best Tour players—except maybe for bunker shots or high, floating chips, which do require more speed.

I've seen many 10 year olds do it, even some 8 and 9 year olds. Not necessarily enough to rip the ball back, but enough for it to stop and not roll out.

Yea my boys started to really kick on the past few months. Hitting 190 yards now and he’s only 5 and a half stone. Tested his swing speed 70/72mph and he’s getting serious spin on his wedges now. Some of the completions he plays there’s a few that are leagues above him it’s wild how good some of these kids are at golf.
My boys got a far better swing than me and I’m off 2
